You spelled Windows wrong.

Unplug your modem (be it cable or DSL) from the internet for a few hours.

or is it all that is needed to change the IP address?

After a few hours you should pick up a new IP. Maybe not though, it all depends. :p

It depends on your Internet account level, and ISP's policies. There is nothing on your side that you can do about it short of calling your ISP.

Nextz timez do not be Badz and you would Not be bannedz, and thus needz a new IPz.;)

akshayt - by admitting you've gotten yourself banned, you pretty much cemented it that no one here is going to help you.

This is a help forum, not a "how do I circumvent security, etc".

I suggest you act like a human being, and either apologize for whatever you did, or wait until they unban you.

Oh.... and please don't go into a description on how it wasn't your fault etc etc. I'm sure it was your little brother etc.

The answers you have already gotten didn't work? Or did you not bother to try them?

Obviously it's the latter. :p

This thread does have a certain comical value.

When I read the OP, I figured he was referring to the IP doled out by the ISP to the modem, so the suggestion of cloning the mac was a good idea. However, it's not out of the range of possibility that the Admin(s) of the forums that banned him, may not have just banned his specific IP - they may have banned an entire range, at which point you may as well look at getting a different ISP... or learn to behave yourself. The latter is usually cheaper. ;)

LOL.

The man is on DSL, so MAC address is irrelevant.

In top of being Banned he might leeching on some one else connection.

Otherwise I can understand his problem.

With this comment, pretty much count on no help from here. Many of us here are admins and don't want to help people trying to circumvent security.

That's a rather arrogant response. Perhaps for your situation it is, but for those of us who have a combined device(modem & router together) it may not be. From the tech support that I've had to do with my provider, changing the unit(and thus the MAC) necessitated a change in the IP issued. Now, perhaps that's just how my ISP(TDS Metrocom) chose to do it, but that's no fault of mine.

Yeah, TDS Metrocom is one of the very very few in the USA that have their own system and do not use PPPOE with residential DSL.

Never the less to change the IP/MAC address he would have to call the ISP as suggested in my first answer.

yep. I'm wondering why he's still allowed to post here, because he has the same mentality in every post he makes (meaning, worthless).
