Monitor is MG278Q , gpu is AMD R290. sRGB setting on the monitor is quite fine ,only problem is brightness is too much . Now there is no way to turn the brightness down on the monitor when its set to sRGB. Graphics card software sends a darker picture, it doesnt turn the backlight down.

So, is there a simple way to just create a new setting same as sRGB but with a lower brightness?

Ideally calibration is done with a good calibrating device (ie, Xrite Display Pro or better) and calibrated on your own display. If you do not have one, then download an ICC profile done on the same model as yours by others. You can get one for the MG278Q from here: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/icc_profiles.htm

Avoid the profiles done on Spyder devices (they are inferior to X-rite). TFT central uses the X-rite i1 Pro in their reviews and profiling, an expensive spectrophotometer which is best of the best. Adjust your settings to match the recommended ones in the chart that pertain to your display. Keep in mind that no 2 displays are exactly alike, even same models, which may require you to fine tune settings slightly further to taste. TFT Central typically use 120cd/m2 as the brightness target, so yours should be in that region if you follow the recommended settings in the chart.
