Are the boxes shaded in because he's checked them off for having accomplished them? Now that's "asom."

I'm picturing him playing alone, list by his side, mentally evaluating himself...

"Awesome? check."
"Arrow? check."
"Cool hair? (smears a glob of dad's product across his head) check."

Maybe while he was playing he was having targeting issues, which is why he appended the item about accuracy to his list...

I bet he couldn't stop smiling, though :)

Thanks, Sixone. I appreciate those of you who took the time to enjoy it for what it was: the illustrations of a kid's imagination. :)

Kids have such a great attitude about life. It's too bad we get old and lose it. :(

???

I'm just saying that "he's 7" means something else to me. Just perspective, I guess.

Dude, that's WAY too easy of a set up line. Do you REALLY want me to post what "he's 7" means to you? No, no, you really don't.

You ought to stop while you're behind, 1-2-3. :D

lol! I guess so... I'll have to ask him when he wakes up in the morning! :) I'll also tell him what you were envisioning. We will get a good before-school laugh about it. :D

If I used hair product, my hair would try to take over the world. My thick hair is turning white, but thank God it's not turning loose!

Oooookay.

You know, that quote looks entirely different than the post I made. Not trying to misquote me, are you?

In any case, if you stop trolling, you won't set yourself up as a target of ridicule. Or, by all means, we can keep going. I'm enjoying seeing you step in it over and over again.

Not sure if you're being hostile or defensive here. I'm not stepping in anything. I like your thread. I like your parenting style. I think your kid is cool (like my nephew).

Watch the Axe Cop YouTube link for lulz.

You thought it was cute UNTIL you found out he was 7, then you compare yourself to my son, then start implying that he's not getting a good education (despite the fact you have no clue what he can or can't do), and being a douche while you're at it... and you wonder if I'm being hostile or defensive? Seriously? :eyeroll:

If your backpedal is all the apology I'm gonna get, then I accept.

Next time, think about what you're posting and how you're coming across to others before you hit Submit Reply, 'k?

I simply mentioned what was expected of me at age 7. Not calling your kid dumb or anything. I had 2nd grade at a Christian school in GA from 1987-1988. I guess these things should not be compared.

I'm not a parent. Ignore me.

You don't have to be a parent to have common decency. What would you think of me if, out of the blue, I jumped into one of your threads and said, "I thought he had a great reply until I found out he was 32. I learned how to properly handle noun-pronoun agreement when I was in grade school :colbert:" You'd probably say, "What a jerk!"

And that's magnified tenfold when you're talking about a kid.

Know what was expected of me at age 7? To play well with others and to treat them with respect. Not to pridefully show how much better I was than all the other kids.

You were in a Christian school. So show love instead of trying to make yourself look better by making someone else look worse (a 7-year-old child!). Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep - Romans 12:15. My son was being "asom". I was rejoicing. And you decided to snipe at a child's work! How is that Christian?

I've learned this: US schools are above criticism or comparison (even a little bit) because someone might be offended.

If that's all you got out of my post, you've learned nothing from it. Has nothing to do with my son's school; it has to do with you proclaiming that you are better than someone else. Again, how is that Christian?

You interpret it that way even after I clarified my statement.

How about a little Christian love for me, friend?

Allow me to quote your post:

You mistakenly believe I am offended because you criticized my son's school.

You *really* don't understand that I am offended because you criticized my son, do you?

I'm showing you love by trying to show you what you're doing. Jesus didn't stay silent when He saw inappropriate behavior. Nor will I.

I will pray that you learn to treat others with more respect and love than you showed my son. Take care, Ichinisan.

I was expected to be at a certain level of aptitude at age 7. I thought it was normal. Then I realized that it wasn't normal (or, at least, isn't normal anymore).

I thought that was remarkable and said so.
You thought that was offensive and said there's no difference between then and now.

You might be right. My perspective is probably abnormal.

It's 'normal' for some, not for others. I have 3 sons; my oldest still probably can't spell awesome, the other two are outstanding spellers. I'm somewhat of a spelling nazi but I certainly don't care how his first grader spells.

Cute list, OP, and I too chuckled at the filling in of the boxes. Once he gets acueret, his transformation will be complete and the two of you can fight crime together, Kick-Ass style.

Dude that's funny, kids are awesome! My 8 year old brought home a "book" he had been working on at school this year. It was called "Iron Chris" and it was about how "Iron Chris" stopped a meteor from hitting New York City, complete with illustrations.

On a side note, when we got back from seeing the movie, he grabbed his Thor mask and hammer, his capt america shield and his Iron Man hand shooting thing along with the power thing that stuck on his chest and said he can be all of the avengers at the same time. Then he ran around the house beating me, his mother, and the two dogs.

Because The Avengers were known for terrorizing their households, right? :D
