If by "next to no apps" you mean 150,000 apps, then yeah.
next to no honeycomb specific apps, other than google's
ipad had a bunch lined up at release, google has a few too, just not as many.

the article said:In terms of technical specifications, the Xoom is heavier, but it has a better screen.
Why does it have to be HoneyComb specific? I am using Android market apps on my nook color tablet, no problems.
Should I start a thread with how many ways the Xoom could cost more than the iPad?

800-500=300
(0.008*100000)-(0.005*100000)=300
I don't know why people try to argue it, the Xoom is overpriced. The cost of entry for the iPad is MUCH lower than the cost of entry for the Xoom. I don't see what the argument is.
The argument? The XOOM is on the same price level as the iPad, and it has better hardware. And, and... it's not Apple.
I think I'm rubbing off of commenting on Engadget...
Seriously, though, some arguments are just so futile it's like sarcasm... only funnier.
$800 min vs $500 min = not same price level. I can't afford a $800 XOOM but I can afford a $500 ipad2
@$800 I'll spend the extra $200 to get an 11" MBA.
He just hates Apple, and for people like that, no iPad will ever be good enough.
As much as Apple has a religious following of supporters, it also has a religious following of haters.
That's just the truth. No more, no less. You'll be amazed at how some people simply hate anything Apple makes regardless of what it is or how it's priced.
This is truth. I used to hate Apple but then, on a bet, I bought a 13" MBP and had to eat crow...

The Xoom is a buggy POS, which Motorola may or may not fix. As it stands, it's not stable at all and has next to no apps available for it. In it's current state it would have to be $299 for me to even think about wanting one.
Moto dropped the ball BIG TIME here.

Fair to say it's also amazing that all apple fans think that @ $500 everybody will want an ipad, without taking into consideration that the current UI is an absolute deal-breaker for some of us. Lighter, faster, thinner means nothing to me if the functionality is not what I need it to be.
Sales figures in a few months will show who wins that battle...

then the nook color is the best tablet on the market right now because it's only $200.

While you are correct it seems that at least as many people are oblivious to the fact that the iPad is overpriced too when looked at from an honest perspective. From a business perspective Moto has stated they are shooting to sell 800K units in the first three months of availability. To me, it is likely priced fairly well for that goal given what the Galaxy has been doing for numbers(another horribly overpriced part).
Is the Nook actually comparable to the original iPad? Screen size difference aside, I thought that the Nook's CPU was slower and it had less RAM.
