Other than genes, the best way to maximize height is eat lots of good foods, get a ton of sleep, and do some physical exercise.

What kind of exercise? Lifting weights isn't that healthy in beginning of puberty. Running is good, i think..

I'm not entirely sure about that. A few hundred years ago people were like 5 feet because of poor nutrition. However, I doubt eating healthy foods would encourage your body to grow to levels that stress your circulatory system.

I don't know what causes people to grow to ridiculous heights, but I doubt it's health food. If it is health food, why are we seeing an increase of average height when we're also seeing a society much, much more dependent on eating out/fast food/snacks?

The Danish are the tallest people on Earth, and coincidently, the largest consumers of dairy per capita on Earth as well.

I think moderate weight lifting is fine. Bone size and strength are definitely enhanced by weight-bearing exercise and the release of growth hormone during intense activity certainly won't hurt.

Look at the males in your close family. Unless they had their height stunted by illness or lifestyle, you'll probably be in the same ballpark.

They might look buff because:

1) shorter, smaller guys may be more likley to work out to compensate, or
2) shorter guys look thicker with less mass (optical illusion -- get out the tape measure if you doubt it), or
3) possibly other factors such as certain "performance drugs"

It does not mean that they are short because they lift weights.

No seriously, i've been in the locker room for Phys Ed. Every dude that is ripped is below 5'6", all the average people like me are fairly tall, and all the fat ones are average in height.

Again, weighlifting is not the only possible explanation. There are many tall guys that started lifting young. Go ask this same question somewhere like t-nation where you have a huge group of lifters.

Also, if they are "ripped" by dieting to lower bodyfat (an assumption, not always the case) then they may be stunting growth through lack of calories. Again, that would not be the weightlifting but the dieting. While you are still growing I would not advocate any extreme diet to lose bodyfat.

My cousin grew damn near a full foot between the time he moved away from my town at about 15 or 16, until I saw him when we were in our mid-20s. So you never know... Of course, men on that side of our family tend to keep growing until late teens/early 20s. Ask your dad and grandpa/uncles/etc how old they were when they stopped growing taller. Since you're just hitting puberty, I'm sure you're likely to grow some more.
