5'9"... probably more like 5'8.5". I wouldn't care except my brother is 6'0" and my dad (now deceased) was 5'10" or 5'11". I lost a lot of sleep in high school and didn't grow much then. I sort of blame that. I'm not desperate and I don't wish to be taller, but I wouldn't mind being an inch or two taller.

Don't fall for the misconception that taller = healthier. My brother and cousin 2-5" taller than me, and they eat total crap. They got/get about 6 hours of sleep on weeknights, but sleep until like 11-1 on weekends.

Shorter doesn't mean healthier either. But when you get well above 6', it adds a constant strain to your heart your entire life. That's why you don't see many tall, old people.

6'6" and I would rather be 6'3" the tall comments and the "did you play basketball?" get old.

5'11.75"

This is tall for asians, but I would definitely like to be around 6'6" or 6'7" if I had my way. Maybe not good for biking, but for basketball, that would be sweet.

tall isn't always attractive, you can be 7 feet tall and look like a goof ball

5'6, If I were 6'2 it would have helped with swimming heh. I don't let it bother me, I just walk around like I'm really 6'5 :D (Woo for Napoleon complexes!! :p)

6'4" wish I was a bit shorter actually. everything is made to fit small people :(

also taller people have harder time to do some physical tasks like shovelling snow off the driveway mechanically speaking.

Does anyone have the same experience that short people have tall friends? I realized most of my friends are >6'

I like my height. I don't understand why people want to be taller than 6' 3-5". Stresses the heart, it's not healthy. When's the last time you saw a tall elderly person?

Amen, same as you, 5' 9" is just right for me.

I am happy with my height of 5'8". I'm right on the border of "tall" for my gender but not too tall or too short.

That's one plausible explanation. Or I could be a hermaphroditic pygmy

5'11", I'm 16 right now, and i'm still in beginning of puberty. Yeah, my family genes enter puberty late.

I hope to grow to at least 6'3" You think its possible? My friend says puberty has nothing to do with grow spur or something.

Other than genes, the best way to maximize height is eat lots of good foods, get a ton of sleep, and do some physical exercise.
