I'm giving my doctor a stool sample because I've been having a black stool after eating peppers last week. About 30 mins a go I had another black stool. Do you think this is 911 serious or I have time to wait for my doctor to get the results back? I'm handing in the sample tomorrow.

Thanks. It's nice to know that I'm probably overreacting. I just read that a black stool could be due to internal bleeding.

I would recommend seeing someone for you lower back issues.

and finding a better way to relax your body in a more homeopathic

naturopathic way.

blesses.

If there's frank blood (bright red blood) in your stool and there's a lot of it, that's more worrisome. Black stool can be due to something you ate or due to gastrointestinal bleeding higher up in the system. Usually it's alright to wait, unless you're feeling dizzy, lethargic, nauseous, etc on top of it.

My stool is a lot more like ice cream swirls but there is no pain. I was at the doctor for this specific reason last week and she pressed all over my body to see if there was any pain. Didn't find any pain so I'm sending in my stool sample for Monday.

Right now, I'm feeling sleepy. Most likely because it's almost 1am.

Edit: Thanks for the info Social. There was no visible sign of blood and when smeared against the stool test. The smear itself came off as brown but the large clump of ice cream swirl shaped stool was black. I just hope it's not blood or something serious.
