I'll have to snap a few today, by the time I got back yesterday after taking the birds I found inn the yard to a rescue lady it was getting dark.

Did look at it for a moment from the upstairs before leaving this morning. The one that snapped and fell looks like it might not be too much trouble if I had a chainsaw, only about 8 feet of trunk fell, the rest is all top cover branches. The other doesn't look like any trunk made it past the hedgerow, so could snip the branches there and wait until they take the trunk away before deciding what else to do.

Oh, I totally had a different image in my head.
I assumed someone planted 2 new trees in your yard by mistake.

Now I get it... they were knocked over into your yard.

Chainsaw would be good. You are responsible because they are in your yard.
Even if they were planted in your neighbor's yard, it's your problem now.
(Or so I've heard)
That's why some trees are shaved clean on one side. One neighbor doesn't want it overhanging their yard.

*sigh*
You could have a nice firepit in the back yard, have a little camp fire, roast some hot dogs, roast some marshmallows, and drink some beer. Don't forget to invite the neighbor over for a few beers.

Wish I can do that. Local fire code does not allow firepit or the cherry tree would have been chopped long ago 🙂

here's the top that fell over

and where it came from

had to charge the camera battery, so here's what's left of the one that came through the hedges

and here you can see how the hedges got crushed out of the way and can still see some of the leaves from the trunk and remaining portion of the tree sticking out some.
