One woman in my office heard from her friend's mother that all gas stations were order to shut off their pumps. So, one lady, who was eavesdropping on the conversation, went around the office telling everyone that there would be no more gas in Baltimore for days because all gas stations were told to shut off their pumps.

Meanwhile, gas stations have been reporting selling triple their normal amounts in the past two days because people are losing their minds and flocking to the stations.

Now, the woman is calling everyone she knows to tell them this.

rrrrr.....

Duct Tape could fix this situation.

Duct Tape could do a lot more than stop the gossip. 😉

The price gougers at the pumps are no better then the looters in New Orleans. Fvcking thieves.

Blame the oil companies, not the fueling stations.

No, many individual stations have been inflating their prices in panic and/or maliciously as well. This explains the broad discrepancy between stations in a single town. Even here in the Midwest, there was as much as a 30 cent difference between stations as the panic/gouger stations pumped up their prices as soon as the bad news about gas started on the news stations.

True... there is always the exception to the rule. Most of the stations around here, though, are within a penny or two of each other, and I'd venture to guess that > 75% are at $3.09 for 87 (in my area). One fueling station in a nearby town did decide to jump up to $3.49... he got really busy for a short while, and then someone who had just been passing through decided to stop and inform a few people that they could drive a few miles and save a ton of money. 😉

thanks for the heads up

and i emailed a big list of friends

don't worry, we'll get the word out their despite the liberal media trying to cover it up
