how racist is your family?

yay thanksgiving family get togethers. lol.

my great aunt yelled at me to take my hat off because she said that only jews wear hats indoors and my second cousins and parents spent dessert complaining about indians and towelheads moving into their town :\

lol, not at all....

i'm mixed white and hispanic, so yeah, it's a diverse family... no racists...

well my mom is a little racists towards "n word" music...

My dad is the farthest from racist...although he does have his prejudice...it just has nothing to do with race.

My mom is a closet racist. She would never, ever make derogatory remarks or make straightforward comments based on race, but her actions/behaviors based on certain situations show that deep down, she still has some racist inclinations.

My 5 sisters (age 25-44) are not racist at all.

Some members in my family believe some stereotypes, but they aren't racist in that they don't have any hatred or fear of other races.

I love my family but there's some who are racist (mainly against black people) as well as homophobes. Makes me embarrassed.

EDIT: They're not racist against all black people, but I've heard "great person" when referring to black people on multiple occasions.

My mom is but denies the hell out of it. Today she said that black kids never wear braces and didn't see the problem with it.

But I got into trouble when I started talking about the evil Canadians...

Wearing a hat inside is a crime.

Anyway, we range from not racist at all (we have an interracial baby in the family, actually), to near-Klan status.

Mildly racist. My family had an after-dinner discussion about black people making good fried chicken because "it's what they're good at".

Not racist, had lots of people from different racial backgrounds join us for thanksgiving today. I fed some cute babies today. 🙂

my whole family is not even close to being racist, I had to learn about racist words and stereotypes from kids at school not the home

when I had my first daughter, who is mixed, there wasn't even a discussion about race at all, we honestly don't really think that way

We had a black family move in ext to us when I was young and I remember my parents complaining how they were going to bring down our property value. I was horrified at this comment but my parents ended up being friends with them later.

My mom also once told me once when I was around 14 "as long as you don't bring a black girl home". I've been with black girl for 14 years now. 🙂

hows that workin out for you?

i always wanted a sista to all my own...

My family DGAF about color. Tons of mixed couples.

My dad, however, isn't too fond of gay people.

Yeah, I am pretty sure he realizes it, and uhh, how do you mess with them? Lol, it could be fun.

Just throw out comments that you know they will take off on. More often than not, they end up proving their idiocy.

I do this a lot at work too. If I get a racist on the phone...I'm going to mess with them. If the first thing that someone says is, "thank God I got someone that speaks English", I am going to have fun.

my cousin married a black guy and moved down south... my great aunt still treats it like a huge scandal. moreso than my lesbian cousin and her wife even
