How old were you when you moved away from home?

I left at 18 and never was homesick at all. I love being independent and have not looked back. I do see my mom and dad very often but i am glad i moved out when i did.

Left at 14 for a boarding school. First semester was a blast. Got REALLY home sick after the first brake, and had to move back to the dorm.

Wasn't home sick but I sure did miss my mom's cooking.

I was 19 and transferred from the local community college in California to a university in Indiana. I was not too homesick. I was glad to live with my parents, but I was ready to go away and live on my own.

I still live within 30 minitues of my parents hous... If I had moved across the country or something I might have.

Lived in the dorms for College but then moved back home with aprents after. Then got my own place when I was around 24-25 or so...

Preach on!

Edit: When I do come home for Winter or Spring break (or even the first couple weeks of summer) I get massively pampered. I love it.

18 - moved away to school (York U, metro T.O.)

After a couple of weeks, I went fetal on my bed and had a cry. After that I was good to go for the rest of the year.

When I came home at Thanksgiving, I felt like I had been away for years. Nothing seemed the same. Also, everyone knew tunes that I had never heard, since I didn't get the Detroit stations up at school. I never regained the attachment to my home town but would soon learn that it was a good thing.

I think I was about 25... 2 years out of college

I had managed to live at home, while working full time and saving money etc.

My parents out of the blue, decided that it would be a good idea to ask for rent money.. so I moved out.

In retrospect I probably should have moved prior to that...but hey it was free. 🙂

I never really got homesick, since I didn't move that far away, and I was home each weekend to do laundry and mooch dinner.

18 when I went to college. I was homesick for probably 15 minutes, then I started noticing all of the really hot girls that lived in my dorm. That's when I realized I would never move back home 😀

I was 18, and I went to California to party it up 5 days after I graduated High School. I missed my family, but I wasn't "home sick".
