I was 23, am still with the same girl now that I'm 28. Yup she's the one. Hoping to get married in 1.5 years or less :p (saving money sucks). waiting for the big day to propose and hopefully I won't get turned down.

Words can't really explain the feeling, but I'll try. Here it goes, You'll love and treasure every moment you have with that person. Although, I don't suggest you spending your every goddamn seconds with her ;). Cause chances are you still have friends, pets and families. as time progresses you'll start to like the not-so-great side of that person and learn to enjoy what she has to offer. Eventhough she farts infront of ya or clip off her toe nails infront of you LOL. Gotta love that don't you think? :D. I'm not saying that my current GF did fart infront of me but I'm just givin ya a example. Later, you'll start to care and understand that person as part of your life(giving her the best you could offer and scarficing for her<----please noted that this is a two way street). You'll respect her/him and always think of her/him in everyway you could think of. :) Ahh crap gotta go back to work. I shall continue..... but I'll leave it at that for now. Hope it helps.

I was eighteen, in college, and a virgin. She was my first woman, and I thought I was in love. But since I married my wife and now know what true love is. I was only in lust not in love.

"I don't mean an infatuation, a crush, or a like... I mean really, truly, deeply, hopelessly, helplessly, happily in love. How old were you, and what was it like? If it's happened more than once, did you feel as strongly the second/third/etc. time around?"

GeeeeZ! Could anyone honestly know that? It's a subjective matter, yet your above statement is asking for an objective evaluation.

Therefore, I'll say that it was when I was 7/8. Call me crazy, but that's how in love I was at that age. Earlier I had fallen in love, but it was just 'cuz the guy had money and spoilt me. LOL!

But for real, to soothe your request, I would say when I was about 14 going 15.

Sure do. Summer of 1993. I was still running a 386DX40 and playing Doom. Ahh, those were the days.

I think that someone in High school or just out of it (ie. under the age of 19) can't physically fall in love. No one that I know, has the mental capicaticy (me included) to feel such an emotion. Now, it is possible to have a mild sensation of love, and with time, this can grow and mabye you can fully love someone when you are older. I just have to call BS on everyone who voted under the age of 19ish.

Aww come on, everyone knows that when kids are born they fall hopelessly in love with either their mother of father.

How did/does it feel, and how do you KNOW you're in love? More specifics? "Wonderful" is good, but it doesn't really explain it... if you can explain it. Just curious, as I've never been.

Peace,
Dezign

i think you dont know you are until you realize you could lose it. one day, my man and i got into a big argument, and at the thought that he may not want to be with me anymore, is when i realized i wouldn't know what do do without him. not as though i am needy or helpless, but the thought of "what if he is no longer in my life anymore". I think, true, unconditional love grows over time if it is the real thing, it really is a feeling of your butterflies in your stomach, a happy restlessness when you are away from them, a comforting feeling when you are with them that nothing can harm you, you are safe.

I feel that way towards a female friend of mine, but we are not more than friends.

I think this poll is flawed, my definition of love is if you're ready to spend the rest of your life with that person. If feeling safe with someone, and the thought of losing them is horrifying then yes I do "love" my friend. But we are not romatically involved, so what does that make it?

The first time I ever fell in love was when I was 5/6. But that was only an infatuation. In hindsight, I liked the guy 'cuz he would shower me with stuff, if you know what I mean. :Q Hehehehe! I would go home and torture my siblings with how much I loved this guy and wanted to be his for eternity. :Q I got jilted, however. LMAO!

The second one I felt was real and it lasted for as long as it did in my heart, until a reunion years later. Then in between came infatuations and then the 14/15 one that became way more complicated. :Q

I think that it is hard to qualify relationships. We often see things as perfect and only in hindsight do we realise how mistaken we were. There's really no way to be absolute because tomorrow may hold something different from today.

Lastly, "love" is really a complicated feeling. It's abstract and defining it is very difficult. We all have our personal perceptons of "love", and often they do vary.

Love? Hmm... I don't believe in "the one" or that whole mode of thinking. I'm not sure if that means I don't believe in the concept of love or what? The world is a much different place now than it was even 20 years ago, and I guess I'm speaking from a biased point, as we all are, but at the end of the day I think that the concept of love, at least as my parents knew it, and as most define it here, is very hard to find today.

So no, I've never been in love.

Before I met vanessa I thought I knew what love was.. now I dont know.. I dont have those feelings and I definately dont know what love is.... I am just reacquaiting myself with her (love) now.

The mind plays such games when you dont have something you so long for, and when you do it just shuts you out of things that it once played on.

I am 23 and I am yet to fall in love though every day I drop by an inch.
