I started PC gaming with Everquest/Starcraft at the age of 10. Then I also juggled Diablo around with those two games. I didn't buy into the console scene until a year or so after Diablo II.

34.
I used some of my college grant money to pay for my 1st computer (486DX2, the one with a turbo button, hehe.)
First PC game was Doom. Not until I added a video add-on card (Canopus Voodoo1, I think) did I really get into gaming. I couldn't stop playing Quake1 (real 3D) back then.

I've never owned a console and possibly never will. I can always play at friends house.

I will game as long as I can.

Warcraft 2

These games started it for me.

I'm 38. I only got my first PC in 1999 too, my bro-in-law gave it to me before he went to live in Europe. I could barely turn it on and type a word document without help.
I now have 5 computers ( I do have 4 kids from 16 - 7yrs).
I have built several others for friends, operate 2 web sites, and am now the family go-to-geek for all things tech.
I'm also part of a gaming clan here in Australia for over 30's. We own our own gaming server, as opposed to renting one.
We have about 50 members and the oldest is in his 60's.

I'm 46 and my first console was the Intellivision

My first PC game which I remember quite well is Wolfenstein Spear of Destiny

I have boxes of games tucked away in the back of the cellar or attic somewhere.

Really? The earliest computer game I can remember was Star Raiders on an Atari 400. That was a pretty cool game, but I also remember Tank, Plane and Pong for an Atari 2600. Also Missile Command and Centipede not to mention PacMan, though I really didn't care for Pacman.

Star Raiders Ruled! I haven't thought about that game in years. I didn't know too many people who also had an Atari 400.

Oh, and I'm 42 and still gaiming!

I started with the original Atari 2600 and later the Colecovision. After a long haitus, I started again in the late 90s when the 3dfx voodoo cards started to become affordable. Now with a spouse and kids, I cannot dedicate too much time (i.e. no Warcrack) but have to limit myself to the occasional FPS game online.

I'm 43 and still gaming, but now I'm working on my own games. At present, I've decided to create a space shooter based on Newtonian physics (I can't even begin to think how I'd model time dilation for relativistic physics), but getting as accurate as I possibly can.

Right now, I'm working on a peripheral program that, when given a model defined by a list of triangles, a mass and scale, will calculate volume, moments of inertia, center of mass, center of percussion, etc, all for the purpose of accurately modeling space flight.

I haven't given up Star Raiders, only now, I want it more challenging.
