How old are you when you finally reach Heaven?

The bible claims that, when we die, we will go to Heaven. How old will we be when we get there? If I grow to a ripe old age, will I have to live the rest of eternity looking like an old man? What about the very young, who God decided that they should die from disease, accident or horror? When they get to Heaven, will they be magically transformed into a productive part of heavenly society?

Also, I am probably not going to be admitted to Heaven right away. After I reach Hell and am burned and painfully turned into charcoal until Jehovah is pleased, will I show up as a piece of charcoal, or will he wave his magic finger and fix me up?

I don't know. I think if we go to Heaven, as we are when we die, it might be better for the religious among us to die off when they are young. That way, they can enjoy themselves in Heaven, and give the rest of us an enjoyable life back on Earth.

Does the bible say anything about this?

Depends on your flavor. Catholic doctrine holds resurrection of the physical body so you get stuck with how you was when you died (powerful incentive against gluttony and dissipation knowing you'll be stuck like that for eternity). The JWs have God's backup tape and we might infer that we could get a new hard drive when we get restored.

I'm more curious about heavenly fashion. The JWs and Chick Tracts have suits and ties for the men and dresses for the ladies. Other sects have us in comfy looking bathrobes while medieval painters have everybody butt ass naked.

Kind of seems like a powerful incentive to die young, too.

I remember being taught that you would be at your physical prime, presumably late teens or early twenties. (Islamic upbringing)

What makes you think you'll still have a body when you get to Heaven - It's a Spiritual place. Therefore it matters not how old you were when you died.

What makes you think heaven exists for you to go to?

Everyone goes to Heaven. Some people will just arrive later than others. It all depends on how long God is willing to let you suffer first.

if you get stuck how you are when you died that is a case to die young. why would i want to live to be 40+ if im going to be stuck as a old man? I will live crazy and hope ot get hit by a car...

best story i read about heaven said heaven is how you want it to be when you die. if you want the fluffy clouds and robes thats what you get. IF you want a small house in the country with everything you need thats what you get. its up to the person its not a one size fit all type of deal.

Can you quote the parts of the bible where you claim it says these things?

theoretically you should not have any physical or specific shape. defeats the purpose of existing in the physical world then doesnt it. Our entire bodies are based on our physical environment and within the laws of physics itself.
i don't think anyone wants to be a ball of light either, what would there be to do? Of course the whole afterlife idea doesnt make much sense in many ways.

Gotta stop you right there. Bible doesn't say that actually. Doesn't say anyone goes to heaven when they die or ever. To sort of answer your question though, it says we get new bodies.

I don't believe in god but if I am wrong then I wouldn't really care how old I am when I reach Heaven.
