fausto, if you followed what i said you would understand that if you worked out my way you wouldn't squat/bench/run 2 miles. My regimen would be to:
one day a week
bench heavy weights once you are absolutely worn out
sprint for as long as you can(basically without passing out)
work on your back muscles until you wear out, again heavy weights
work out your quads using heavy weights until you wear out
work out your abs preferably while holding a weight, until you wear out
work on your triceps, heavy weights til wear out
etc.. etc...

Have you ever spoken to a coach or trainer?!?! That makes NO SENSE whatsoever. I have been in collegiate athletic programs as well as coached people myself, and I have NEVER, EVER heard such silliness.

once your finished wearing out all of your muscle groups go cool down and relax, the day your muscles stop hurting wait another 3-4 days then repeat. you dont have to do all muscle groups every week, you can alternate work opposing groups on different weeks. >>
Huh? So by using your program a person would only work out once every week or week and a half. There would be little or no gain performance or otherwise by working out that way. And if you want facts, search the freaking web.

my point is this, unless you give your entire body enough time to heal itself you won't gain as much. Your entire body includes your entire body, spine, internal organs, etc. Unless you're using supplements (along the lines of creotine(sp?) or steroids(bad)) this is the healthier way to work out. imo of course. >>
Your are correct about giving the muscle group you lifted with a days rest, but only if you lifted hard the day before. Example: MON- 3x12 biceps $Xlbs or something, TUE- no biceps, WED- 3x12 or whatever... They do not need to rest for 7+ days. If you compete in something, in some cases people consider the competition to count for 2 training days and take the day after off. Some train through, however, as well. It depends on the sport and the importance of the competition.
