How often do you get raises? And for how much?

I work on a fee basis. My income has increased every year for 10 years on end.
Hopefully it keeps going that way, but who knows.

We went from cost of living + merit raise every year to cost of living only to nothing at all the last couple years. We are now behind the competition in the area and it's going to start costing us good people very soon if things don't change.

I have given myself a raise this year. Mainly because I couldn't deal with paying myself nothing any more (since 2008).

I was getting 10-15% for a couple years when we were doing hot, but since the meltdown I've been getting less than inflation. yay, effective paycut.

Aside from promotions only 3% per year...just got royally screwed and my job has been changed from exempt salary to hourly, and they based my hourly wage on a 50 hour work week...now I have to work 48 hours a week just to not take a pay cut...which for weeks that I take vacation amount to a 6% pay cut...yay, time travel back 2 years in pay

when I was on a project nobody else wanted, I was getting 10% raises and a promotion every year. Project changed though, so back down to 3%, but I still get promotions and now am eligible for bonuses.

I prefer the new project though.

Sometimes I am just sitting at my desk and I get a raise... then I have to wait like 20 minutes before I can get up and walk around.

Every 6 months, but I'm capped now. We also get a yearly raise to account for rising cost of living but they took th at out in the last union contract along with our bonus. Meh, at least I got a job and making enough money to live.

Before '08, I got a 10% raise, every year after has been below 4%.... but hey, at least I get 401k matching I guess.

yearly merit raises.

I think the highest I've gotten was 15% (back when I was still making peanuts) and the lowest I've gotten was 3% (during the 2008 meltdown)
