Heh heh.. just thought of something for a laugh...

At work we fly a small fleet of Boeing 727's.

Here's some fuel info on those bad boys:

It can hold approx. 51,000 pounds of fuel which is about 7,600 gallons.
This would allow a distance of ~3,000 miles on one "tank"
Or about 0.4 mpg!
Each engine at cruise altitude burns through 400 gallons per hour.
Total fuel consumption is 1 gallon every 3 seconds.
During takeoff, the fuel burn is 1 gallon every 0.8 seconds!

About the only thing we are more economical than, is a top fuel dragster.

Yes, but most of us can't fit a couple hundred people in our cars. 🙂

so far no one else has mentioned it might depend on the price of gas at the time.

😕

high price = put a little in
low price = fill it up

Well, for those who work, price won't make a difference seeing how they need to go to work.

I have to fill up 1x week regardless if it's $5/gallon or $2/gallon.

I drive a Nissan Maxima and I only average about 20 mpg 🙁 (i do 95% of my driving in town)
so yeah thats about 200 miles on 10 gallons of fuel.

how the **** are some of you guys gettin 500-600 miles on your tank? Hydro electic cars?

Haha I have a Nissan Maxima also. Year 1996 holds 16 gallons of gasoline and runs 300 miles on a single tank. I usually fill it up every 2 to 4 weeks since i dont drive that much.
