My teenager has allergies/asthma. His doc said to get him a new pillow every month or so and see what happens. Sounded fishy to me, but it made a huge difference. It's way cheaper to buy a new pillow that often than have to deal with the medicines and the ER visits.

Doc also said to change the pillowcase every day, but I did that and it didn't make any difference, so I don't any more.

We're talking really cheap pillows here, nothing expensive.

coudln't you just wash the pillow? thats got to get expensive...

~$8 a month is expensive?

that's like 80 meals of ramen a month..

Mmmm, making me hungry. I love ramen. Anyway, $5-8 a month is really worth it for good health. I didn't say it's for everyone, just pointing out that it works for DS. We tried the washing and the anti-whatever covers and air filters and so on, didn't help.

As a bonus, I have tons of nearly-new pillows for myself. Pillow fights anyone?
