I was laying down last night to sleep and realized I have had my pillow for like 4 years. How often do you change yours?

Youve almost doubled your lifetime posts today! Congrats!

Oh btw, I replace it when it starts to feel too "flat"

I don't think I've been alive long enough to notice a pillow replacement pattern.

Never have, probably never will. I wash the pillow case every once in a while.

When it gets to the point of being "broken."
"To test the support of down and feather pillows, lay the fluffed pillow on a flat, hard surface. Fold the pillow in half and squeeze out the air.
Release the pillow: one with support will unfold and return to its original shape. A broken pillow will remain folded."
We usually replace our down or down/feather pillows every 4-5 years for the sake of comfort.

I read that after a couple of years your pillow is half dead skin and dust by weight that it has collected from you and your environment. Or something...

Psst...most of us use pillowcases;)

And don't believe everything you read. That sounds like BS if I've ever heard it.

I've had the same pillow for 6+ years, I think. That is not to say I don't use newer pillows sometimes.

Notice the "Or something..." at the end of my post, indicating that what I said was probably BS.

if you're referring to the pillowcase, i put a new one on every two days. i sleep on a clean side every night. (if you're wondering why, it helps my acne. it was recommended by my dermatologist.) in the pillowcase, i have two pillows. never replaced them.

I hate the way new pillows feel. I can't stand using a pillow that isn't properly broken in. But after about 4 or 5 years on the same one, there really isn't much left, which forces me to get a new one.

I always use two pillows though, so I keep them on a rotation so I always have at least one of them nice and broken in.
