No idea. I've never rented a house. You can rent a crappy room in someone's house for a few hundred. Low end apartments are 800-1000.

I spent 25k. A bit sad about spending the money, but for my wife's family (Chinese) we has to do the whole banquet and invite all the relatives. Thankfully her family was extremely generous and helped us out a lot. We ended up almost breaking even on the whole thing.
