i will say this, if you are a repeat bad tipper and ESPECIALLY if you are the type that tries to have the delivery guy wait while you inspect all the food, have them take out trash or any other errands, etc ... I would just skip ordering in unless you like special additives to your food.

The worst I did was just put the bad tippers food under my floor vents with full A/C on and drop them off last, sometimes after a return back to the restaurant for another set of orders.

Our boss/owner was great. He'd call up non-tippers and tell them they were no longer being delivered too. Also two cops he wouldn't deliver too that gave our drivers B/S tickets or harrassment.

I was stopped one night at 11:30pm with my freaking sign on my car and told to get out, lay on the ground and then was searched and all sorts of crap...they ruined the food orders by checking them for drugs or whatever.

The restaurant actually took the stockade off their delivery route because of it. They were only left with pizza as a food option :).

I don't eat anywhere or order out often enough to form an sort of memory from the people that serve me I don't think.

That being said I tend to over tip most of the time. For me it's a minimum of 20%.

I also don't tip though when I pick something up.

For example the Chinese place by me doesn't deliver but whey I pay with a card they have the line to leave a tip. I pretty much never put any. Same goes for if I'm picking up the pizza I ordered.

I always get the same order, it comes out to like $11.37 I believe.

I give him a 20 and ask for a $5 back, and my food always arrives much quicker than quoted and it's always hot.

<3 my pizza man.

Take care of them and they'll take care of you.

We get it you have more disposable income than us "little people". YTMND.

Now only if you would stop repeating yourself and bragging.

More proof money doesn't buy class.

Dude, it's like 3 bucks more on a tip. Yeah, that's a whole lot of disposable income.

I understand, good for you you tip $14 on a $6 drink when mere mortals tip $6 on a $6 drink and you tip $5 on a pizza when everyone else does $3.

It's not about the money, we've have read your last 5 posts, no need to repeat the same thing Over and Over again.

If you're a dick, AND cheap, on multiple occasions, your house is getting egged. Don't be an ass to people who know where you live.

This is not always the case! I always tip $5.00, but on my last 2 orders, I got jipped my breadsticks. And on both occasions, the pizzas were 20-30min late (on a Wed!). No more $5.00 tips from me. $3.00 from now on.

My wife is always the one who orders...... and about the breadsticks, I did'nt know she had ordered them, but still!

Same here. We have two pizza places in town that deliver, and they're both a mile or less from my house. Unless there's extenuating circumstances, I don't see the point.

No tips anywhere from me, except a small restaurant I've been going to for a decade that I know everyone, or if somewhere else if they do an outstanding job or something. And my tattoo artist.

That means pizzaboy doesn't get shit.

Same when I went to lunch the other day - "I got your beers" the bartender said. I tipped him 10 on 20 dollar meal.

Wanna live well, tip well. You'll get taken care of and you will absolutely get preferential treatment.

I just make my own pizza. It's hot, fresh, and fast. It costs half the price of a delivery pizza and I don't have to worry about it showing up an hour later than expected.

That's pretty lame of you.
Unless you don't order pizza at all.

I do, and I don't tip someone for doing their job and unless it's something worth tipping about. Probably a lot of people think that's douchebaggery, but screw it. :D

Could say I'm with Mr. Pink in Reservoir Dogs on this one.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

There is no way in HELL the pizza people remember me, I've never had the same pizza delivery man ever in my whole life that I can remember. Now if you order from the same place 2-3 times a month or something then yea, I can see how that makes sense but I don't.

I order from quite a few restaurants, BlackJack, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Papa Johns and 2 local places by my house. For some reason I'm almost always in the mood for something different and I order a pizza 1 maybe 2 times a month. So assuming I order from every single place, its possible I won't order BlackJack again until 6 months after I previously ordered from them. Its actually kind of a pain because a couple of the places I order from are really close to being too far from my house and they seem to have to verify they can deliver to me which will take 3-5 minutes. I'm just like, "You've delivered to me before" and that seems to go nowhere with them.

I've also known quite a few people who have worked in the industry and I know what the turnaround rate is like. Most people will work 6 months to a year as a driver and thats it. There aren't many career people out there. Now the local mom and pop places and local chinese places are different, I will usually tip a bit more there if I think they will remember me. But for the national chains like BJ, PH Dominos and PJ I don't tip well because I've tried that before and its so long between orders from me nobody will remember that I tipped well. $2-3 is plenty because I usually have small orders.

I live on the 3rd floor of a walkup, so I go no lower than $3. In NYC most delivery men come up the stairs, but some people live on like the 5th or 6th floor. That's just cruel.

As a former driver, I agree. The only way you get remembered, by me anyways, was that no-tippers got a mark by their name in the computer system. That is because I lose money by driving out with only your order, so you have to wait until I go to someone else's house near you (sometimes amusingly long waits, like 2 and a half hours when it could've been there in just a half). Another exception is big tippers, there was one house that always gave $10 so the drivers would fall all over themselves to take that order and make sure to bring red pepper packets, napkins, etc.

I agree with spidey here, but hell, that got a laugh out of me. I can't believe you brought that thread into this one, haha.

It depends. I think a delivery charges are a complete crock UNLESS it's going to the driver, but there is no way to know that...so the only thing I can do is tip the driver less. I'll almost always tip at least $3...usually around $5. Never more than $5 though, regardless of cost. I think percentages are pure crap in the food industry.

Normally I think that Spidey07 is a jackass. I still think that but I agree with him 100% in regards to his tipping policy. Nobody wants to be a JS80.

The company should pay all employees regular wages and leave it at that. Fvck this tipping concept. Actually, fvck the companies who aren't doing it right.

You mean they fuct up your food, then you rewarded them for actually (finally) doing their job right? Tipping is a fuct up system. No ifs, ands, or buts.

They charge a delivery fee? I'd say that's the tip then. Actually I'd never order from somewhere that has a delivery fee. I normally round up and then add on a couple bucks depending on the size of the order and what cash I have on hand.

However I can't remember the last time I ordered pizza for delivery. I'm too cheap for that. I'd ather go drive and pick it up and save the delivery fee and the tip.

In restaurants, when they add on 15% automatically, then that's all they get. To the cent. If they don't add it on, they generally get closer to 20%.

Don't be lazy, pick it up. No motherfucking tips needed nor are there any delivery surcharges.
