Offer them a cold drink. Thata about as far as it goes for me. They dont get paid like waitress staff😕

EXACTLY.

They're probably already getting paid about $10-$15/hour, depending on what store they are from.

If you want to be a nice guy get them something to drink... maybe a snack or something... but save your money because they are already getting paid to do that job.

If you want to be retarded with your money, then I'll give you my address and you can send me a tip for replying to this thread for no charge.

I'd go $20 each for that.

Same.

If they do a good job give them $20 a pop. That's if it's free delivery.

What was the total? $4500? You can afford $40.

I delivered furniture for 3 years while in college. Never expected any tips.

We would occassionally get a 5 spot, maybe one in every 25-30 deliveries or so, more often than not an offer for something to drink (usually a beer if it was a guy at the house 🙂)

Did you accept the beer? Did the driver?

Yeah like $5 a guy should be fine... 10 if you' feel like they worked hard...

Kinda reminds me of 2 weeks ago, got a tattoo that took about 2.5-3 hours and I wasn't sure how much to tip, so I gave her $20 (saw another lady tip 20 while I was there). My artist tried not to accept it, but I made her! So be sure to always tip on tattoos!

Wtf? The tattoo artist is just doing her job. I could understand tipping BEFORE so she likes you... Do you leave an extra tip on the hooker's nightstand?

Fixed.

Something tells me furniture sales aren't a no-profit business.

Profit margins on furniture are extremely high.

If you see a furniture store "GOING OUT OF BUSINESS - 90% OFF", they're still making a lot of money.

I tip tattoo artists. After all, it does stay on your body forevor, so you can thank them for an awesome job.

I delivered and setup mattresses and furniture for a year while in college, and maybe picked up a tip 1 in 10 deliveries. Average was $5-10 for each of us depending on the delivery, and many people also offered cold drinks which were certainly appreciated.

One thing I noticed with delivery is that middle class people tended to tip more frequently and better. The rich rarely ever tip and when they did it was generally very small. Poor people and old people also did not tip, but they were generally very nice and friendly and happy to have new furniture in their house.

I always try to give @ $20 if the delivery guys are careful, efficient, and easy going.

Seems that we get something delired from Lowes a couple times a year, on average, and they most always go above and beyond, even loading and hauling off other old stuff at times.

Had couple of guys come out a few years back with a new refrigerator though.
It was very large but it would fit through the maze we have to get to the kitchen, but these dead A**es decided to take the doors off first. Turned a 20 minute job into a 2 hour job.
Griping, grumbling, and complaining the whole time.No tip for them.

I was the driver. If it was the last delivery of the day, sure, I'd take the beer. Hey, I was a college student, free beer, you bet! 😛

Yup tippe dmy guy 20 bucks as well for mine. They have to act like they cant accept it, but it is definitely much appreciated.

Last time I had a couch delivered I had a $20 ready to give to the guys. But when putting the couch down they knocked over a stone lamp and it broke on the tile floor. So no tip for them and I had them take the lamp for them to find a replacement matching something similar at the furniture store.

Well the tip has a lot to do with: were they friendly and did they make you feel comfortable (mine made me laugh, talk about stuff which helped forget about the pain), did they put a lot of effort into it (i.e. spend some time making sure it's in the right place prior to the needle, did they draw the design from scratch), and most importantly did they do a good job (i.e. happy with it). Those are some variables that factor into tipping on a $500 tatt... also I only had half of it done since it was my first time, and I know that she'll do just as well when I go back this weekend to get the shading finished. 😉
