how much should i tip furniture delivery guys?

puffff

two guys, brought in a couch, mattress, and platform bed. the platform bed required assembly. all in all, the job will take them about an hour..

what's the customary tip (if there is one)?

Yeah like $5 a guy should be fine... 10 if you' feel like they worked hard...

Kinda reminds me of 2 weeks ago, got a tattoo that took about 2.5-3 hours and I wasn't sure how much to tip, so I gave her $20 (saw another lady tip 20 while I was there). My artist tried not to accept it, but I made her! So be sure to always tip on tattoos!

i would tip heavy only because i am a small guy and it would take a great amount of effort if I were to move that stuff alone.

I would tip at the very least, enough to buy each guy a large coffee and a scone or whatnot.

im getting a bed delivered this wknd, and im not tipping sh!t since it cost 80 bucks to get it delivered in the first place

well, these guys are getting paid and they're not driving their own vehicle. it's not like they're pizza delivery-people. if i thought they really busted their asses or did something special, i'd tip, but otherwise, i'd offer drinks and leave it at that. for something like a bed or a simple couch, i wouldn't bother with anything since they'll be in and out in 5 minutes and those things aren't even very heavy.

Offer them a cold drink. Thata about as far as it goes for me. They dont get paid like waitress staff😕

i think i tipped them 10 bucks each when they delived my couch. the couch was about 550, delivery fee was 75.00, tipped them 20.

I delivered furniture for 3 years while in college. Never expected any tips.

We would occassionally get a 5 spot, maybe one in every 25-30 deliveries or so, more often than not an offer for something to drink (usually a beer if it was a guy at the house 🙂)
