By private babysitter do you mean harboring an illegal alien? I guess I just don't know anyone willing to work for $20 a day...day after day...reliably.

We need to start banning these types of people and outcasting them from society.

Why don't you qualify your statement: I am a criminal, I just use illegal aliens to watch over my kids...it doesn't bother me I cannot do any type of background check on them

so she isn't registered? Self employment tax and any type of benefits will make that $100/day more like 40-50

As a result, the babysitter is spending the night at the house.

The kids (2) will be awake from 4:00 PM till 9:00PM and will wake up around 7:00 AM.

It will be eight hours with the children and ten hours with them asleep that she also can sleep in.

How much should this cost?

I want to make sure to pay her enough that she'll want to do it again but not too much as I'm slightly tight for cash.

Too much information...all that matters is someone is responsible for your kids and losing their time from 4pm to 10am the next day.

Sleep time and the like matter not. Saying they sleep 10 hours with a babysitter is pretty damn optimistic.

The most important thing is how much a babysitter is getting in your area, here you'd be lucky to find someone reliable for less than $15 per hour.

They may take on a large job like this for $100-200 though

To the dude that's paying $20 a day for a private babysitter WTF?!?! Who is going to work for so little?

Nah, she's not illegal, and she's very reliable. She's just an old lady who has a lot of time on her hands and was willing to take our daughter in. She's an awesome babysitter and I wish we had known her a couple of years ago when our oldest daughter didn't attend school.

But, you are correct in that $20/day is kinda cheap, maybe I'll talk with my wife about giving her an extra 5-10 bucks per day if we can afford it. She's definitely worth every penny IMO.

leaving them on a curb with the village wino doesn't count.

He goes to her house, along with the other little boy she watches.

My impression of a private sitter is that they would go to your house and only watch your kids. Either you have 4-6 kids or she's running a daycare at her place.

so her income is $200 for the week and she has her own place?

She's probably selling movies of those two kids.

Yes. Her husband is the one that has a job. From what she has said, she has to be home all day anyway because she has a nine year old with down syndrome, and in case there is a problem at school.

So she is a stay at home mom, and this ay she brings in a bit of extra money.

I'd say it depends on how well you know the sitter. If I knew the kids already I would certainly do this job for $50 + dinner.

In Monterey? $100 easy.

Talk to the sitter. Ask her how much she wants for the service. If she wants considerably more, see if she'll negotiate.

You KNOW we want the "action" pics of the threesome...:D

Where are you located? I pay $20 a day for a private babysitter + food expenses. Some places it can be 50+ per day

$20/day!? I don't think I'd ever leave my kids (if i had them) w/ anyone for $20/day.

Shes better than I could dream for. Pays great attention to my child, loves him liker her own and plays with him and tries to teach him things. You just have to remember I'm in WV so prices are MUCH lower here.

A stay at home grandmother (not old, maybe in her 60's) who likes having the company and a little bit of extra money.

Glad to see someone smacking some sense into these tards. Not everyone does the babysitting for the $$, some just like the company. No my babysitter isnt an illegal, no she isnt a pedo, shes a great lady who truely cares about my child. Take your moronic statements and shove them ....
