i'm moving into a studio in westwood w/ my gf and it's gonna be 700/mo each just for rent/utilities alone

500 would be REALLY tight in SoCal. You might be able to find a place for $500 a month with roomates but then you'll have no money for anything else.

Not a chance man, I mean you'd be ok if you found someone with a decent sized house, but that's like 4 other people living with you plus a VERY small room. A friend of mine is paying 600 a month for a room that can only fit 3 people in it at once, and that's with no bed and TV :Q.

If $500 is all you have in a month forget about moving out man, I make $1,700+ a month and still think I'm poor around here. Sorry to hear your dad wants you out.

ideally, it'd be 1 bedroom, 1 bath, and 1 mini-kitchen.

i will not live with anyone else... i cant get along with anyone else...

For $500/mo. you can sleep in my garden shed, crap in the dumpster in the alley, share my dogs' Purina and wash yourself once a week with the garden hose.

my rent is 575. THAT'S JUST RENT! you still need to pay for food, and utilities, and just moving expenses!

and assuming you're going to college, you will want to live NEAR the campus, where the landlords deliberately jack up the rent.

Depends on where in San Diego. La Jolla and Coronado are going to be well out of that price range......that is more like IB (Imperial Beach) price range.

Even a moderately decent 1 bedroom will cost you at LEAST $495-$800 depending on area.

A craphole, maybe $350-500.

For a decent place without paying THAT much, try Eagle Rock or Los Feliz. Few of my friends found awesome bargains there.

Also, check billboards and papers around USC / UCLA. Many people rent out rooms or are looking for roommates. That's probably your best bet.

no, i'm not in LA anymore... in LA i could just find another place in compton... and wear a few colors, i could get my rent/food/utilities for free :p

this is the same bastard who tells me i'm completely useless and contribute nothing, then asks me to build him a computer, fix his current computer, fix anything electronic, and build him furniture, all w/o pay, all in the same day. and then tells me to mow the lawn.
