Now his democrat buddies in congress might have a tougher time holding onto their jobs.

His ratings have held up in what way?

They have declined at a faster rate than the average from about June-August. After that they've been relatively stable at a few points over 50 (depending on who you ask). Rasmussen has consistently been below the Pollster.com average for job approval... something to keep in mind.

Rasmussen polls represent who's pissed off at the time, the most worthless of polls

Once the Term Limit is repealed, Obama '40 "We Can Again" will be a Reality.

Of course they will, midterm elections nearly always bring gains for the party without the presidency.
Yeap... the big question is do the Republicans gain enough seats to save Obama from himself?
Do we see a repeat of 1994 where the Republicans came in after Clinton's disastrous first two years and helped him turn his presidency around.

Or is Obama too liberal to be saved??

Anyone thinking that the Republicans will be gaining seats are delusional. The label alone sinks candidates. Despite all the coverage of opposition and vocal opponents of Obama/Democrats, Republican identification is at an all time low. They are simply a vocal minority. I highly doubt the Republicans will make any inroads against the massive Democratic majority in the House/Senate.

My prediction is that the Republicans gain a couple seats in the House and nothing in the Senate. The label is that toxic.

As much as I don't like to make a point with anyone's name, I can hardly help but to insist on the name SpinJohn.

In such a short space, at least 3 whoppers, one that the Republicans helped Clinton instead of hurt him - BS, they blocked his good programs every step of the way while leading him down the wrong road - as I've told SpinJohn repeatedly and he just ignores and repeats his BS, is that Clinton was already cutting the deficit by similar amounts his first two years, though SpinJoun wants to say only the Republicans did that. His tax increase on the top 2% that was a big help against the deifit was the first two years too - over extremely strong Republican opposition, with every right-wing commentator saying it would doom the economy, just before the big surge happened instead.

Second, that the Republicans who hurt our country to badly in power the last several years would help Obama if the had Congress.

And thirdly the myth tht Obama is liberal. There's a reason liberals are very angry with him.

if I had to put money on someone, I'd put it on Tim Pawlenty or maybe Gary Johnson if he can figure out a way to run as a libertarian without coming across as a crazy like RP... of course, it's way early and I'm sure I'll be proven wrong :)

Check out Clinton's approval numbers and get back to me.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wi...on_approval_rating.JPG

Starts 1993 at 55%
By 9-1994 he has fallen almost to 40%
So he lost 15 points while Democrats were in charge of congress.

After Republicans take over he slowly gains approval again until the impeachment scandal.

As for your dream about the deficit. I don't have the links on this machine, but look at all the budgets he proposed prior to 1996 and you will see that he never even talked about a balanced budget.
Or go back and read his major addresses to the country and look for the term 'balanced budget' and you will NOT find it prior to the Republican take over.

Clinton did the same thing Obama is doing. He talked about improving the deficit and deficit reduction, but he NEVER talked about a balanced budget until Republicans took over congress.

Difference with today is, even IF Republicans took back control of Congress - how would they balance this pig of a budget? I submit to you now it will not happen in the next eight years.

We need to replace both parties with one singular party.

As for Obama and the news - it's the "in" thing to report about right now. We're still fighting wars in foreign countries - but it's not as significant as Obama. Hell - at least the news is about something important rather than about the socialites of Hollywood. :)

The same way they did (or didn't) do it the first time. All that happened in the 90's was that Congress and the White House fought so much that economic growth closed most of the budget gap for them. The Republicans didn't balance shit, and neither did Clinton.

No question he'll be reelected. He's too adaptive and moderate not to, not to mention the republicans are in sorry shape for now and the foreseeable future.

I think he's done. He's a one-termer. Not to say that he'll be replaced by a Republican... Just look for Hill to 'resign' in about 24 months.

How long he lasts will tell how long we last.

Thanks to the right wing acting like spoilers and cry babies
(Rush, Fox News, most republican congress people, etc).
Their feeding/playing up to the most outrageous crazy side of politics
by feeding the nut cases that are usually forced to hide in the shadows.
Due to all this... politics as of this day on will never be the same.

Forget the constitution, founding fathers and America as it was intended,
from here on we will live in the bloodbath.
Never again will you hear sanity from politicians, certainly presidents.
Oh... maybe some will speak in a sane manor, but we will never hear them.

Forget about statements like "ask not what your country can do for you,
ask what you can do for your country".
Forget about... "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself".

From now on we will be ruled by the insane words from insane radio hosts,
insane over night TV talking head sensations, joined by insane words from insane politicians, played over and over by an insane tabloid frenzy news media.

It is we that will be the big losers.
Never again will anything in YOUR interests, anything for
YOUR benefit, be accomplished in this country.

Maybe, but only maybe, and that?s a huge maybe, will we come together
again as a nation until the next 9/11-ish event.

We are like organized ants at our huge ant hole, and a giant foot just kicked
dirt all over our ant community.
We scramble in terror attempting to regain organization, but all the sane worker ants
have been killed. So now we scramble about in confusion, possibility forever.

All your retirement was given to the banks.
The ?insurance for profit? industry will decide if you live or die.
Unemployment skyrockets. Homes are foreclosed. Bankruptcy denied.
More and more live on extended government unemployment benefits.
We as a nation no longer manufacture anything of value.
Rights and freedoms have been shredded by playing on our fears.
People have lost the ability to think logically.
We follow leaders that speak from their radio and TV studios,
their only true concern is in their next multi million dollar pay contract.
We protect our country by outsourcing protection.
And the news media gives validity to the voices of insanity.

We are so brainwashed, we vote against our own interests.
We support the health and banking industry raping us daily.
We will not allow our president to speak to our school children.
We believe all government is against us, while billion dollar CEO's are on our side.

Yes... the giant foot has done a real good job at destroying our ant hole.

And as that ant hole we knew as America fades into the sunset, a new ant hole
emerges. One where insanity rules. One where kids are taught not to trust
their president. One where children are taught to side with blood sucking
profit industries while embracing that their government evil.

People so detached from reality that they no longer can grasp the idea we
are protected by our government through the military, insure our seniors
through government Medicare, get our mail, our schools, our military from that
same evil government that kids are now taught to fear.

So going back to the original question, how long will Obama last...?
Ask instead how much longer YOU will last...???
