How much does a kitten cost?

LOL well kittens are young. Also, I don't know your area so I couldn't tell you.

Check out a local animal shelter or something.
 
a kitten from a shelter would probably be $20-$30 , something like that for the shots/spay/neuter
just guessing and it would vary from place to place
 
Ours was $125 at our local ASPCA if I recall. Check their website.

Food isn't too expensive. We feed our kitten Iams, which runs about $15-20 for an 8 pound bag (that will last a couple of weeks). You'll also need to consider the costs for litter, toys and any vet visits.

You can adopt a kitten as young as 8 weeks old. They have some kittens younger than that, but they don't offer them up for adoption until they hit the 8 week mark.
 
i just got one friday for free..but a shelter is like $30-50 bucks and usually includes their shots...either way after then initial $50 or so cost...they are dirt cheap to maintain
 
food ranges from cheap $15/mo to expensive $50/mo. depends on what you buy. but you should feed them kitten food for the first year. and moisten it for the first few months.
 
You can go to petfinder and look at animals in your area that need to be adopted. The fees associated for the tests, etc are cheaper than if you did it outright without adoption through them I think.
 
If you are going to get a kitten, beyond the upfront cost there are the following

food
kitty litter and box
toys
treats (well you could lump this in with the food)
vet visits (at least annually) do this as soon as you get the kitten.
local city/county liscening (vet can probalby do this)


 
Go to PetCo. They always have adoption agencies there on Saturdays and Sundays. We got our kitten for $50, spayed and vaccinated.
 
You can feed a cat for like $10/month. And adoption will usually cost $50-100, depending on where you get it, and that should include all its shots and everything.
 
You can have my cat for free. House broken, all his shots, 2 years old. All black with white undercoat, plays fetch. Very attentive, will almost always be at the door when you come home. More like a dog in a cats body, very affectionate.

It totally depends on which cut you want. The hindquarters range from $10-$15. The ribs run from $5 to $15. Prices vary depending on geographical location, as well as breed of cat, size of cat, etc. Personally, I think beef tastes better, and it's certainly cheaper to buy.

When getting cats you should either get 2 or 0. 3 is too many because they get to be a chore to care for and they won't play as much. If you only have 1 it gets too needy and will always bug you for attention, mostly because they are lonely during the day. When you have 2 they can keep each other company but still depend on you for companionship. Alternatively, if you hate cats, 0 is the perfect number.
 
ya gotta pay for cat litter too thats another 10 bucks a month. and then flea meducine...another 10 or so a month.

Kitten can be have for free, just look at your locate paper. If you want a happy healthy cat make sure you give them good Q food(like Pro plan), clean teeth regularly, vet check, adopt in pair if possible and get them some veg regularly.

if you really want good food go with innova.
but it's not necessary. more important that you get them to a vet once a year, and get them dewormed. almost all cats are born infected from thier mothers. flea treatment isn't necessary if they are indoor cats with no other pets to contaminate them.

and please clean out your litter box regularly. my biggest complaint with cat owners is a nasty litterbox. not only does it make your house stank-nasty, it's just mean to the cats.
 
Kitten is free--far too high a supply out there that anybody should pay a dime beyond the previous owner's/shelter's expenses for shots/vet care.

Food is $10-20 per month.

But there's more:

Litterbox, litter, toys, brush/comb, lint roller (for your clothes, not the cat), toenail trimmer: $50

First shots/check-up: $75-100 (many times, the owner of the mother cat has taken care of this, in which case, you would pay that person for vet bills.)

Getting him/her fixed at 6 months to a year old: $100-200 (females are more expensive because the operation is more invasive.)

Yearly shots/check-ups: $50-100

That's for each cat, and yes, I too recommend two cats. (I had just one for awhile--she would destroy things when I wasn't home because she was bored. When I got a second cat, the problem stopped imediately.)
