I hope you like being in debt if you are going to be w/ her long.

Way to rush to judgement. How do you know she didn't pay for it herself and she doesn't make 6 figures a year?

What's a haircut? OH, I get it...you actually have some one cut your hair? Wow...what an unusual concept...Maybe that explains my long pony-tail!

ROFL! I used to always wear my hair high& tight...just a bit longer than what would piss of a first sargent...No whitewalls on the sides, but short enough to be comfortable....then, a little over 2 yrs ago, I let my wife talk me into letting it grow. In 31 years, she's only seen it cover my ears 2-3 times....Now, haven't had it cut in well over 2 yrs...look at all the money I'm saving!! 😉

I have never paid over $10 for a haircut, tip included. Right now I'm paying $9 and tip a dollar, highest I have I ever paid.

You might as well just slap the barber in the face.

This was a girl's haircut.

They cost a lot more than men's haircuts.

i am sure she had more than a haircut.... there must be extras like high-lights, perm, straightening, manucure... the list can go on

no just the haircut.

the guy who cut her hair is the creative director at one of the top salons in the d.c area. He also does fashion week in NY.

Are you going to post pics or what?

Why is that? Is there some law that governs tipping? WTF is wrong with people in this country that everyone expects to get tipped for doing their job?
Not sure how it is where you are, but most barbers/beauticians/hair stylists around here "rent" their station, and basically get 1/2 of their daily take. Some variations of that of course, but the more they cut, the more they make...While I'm not adverst to tipping when a cutter does a great job without having to "nit-pick" the way it was cut, (you missed some long hairs here, or it's not even there, etc) a tip (to me) is a way of saying "thanks, you did a great job".
I'm not beholden to any food server to tip if I believe the service is sub-standard either, but that's another thread...

If the girl is getting any color put in her hair it can easily be more than that. My wife usually spend $130 to get her hair dyed and cut and drives 50 miles to do it, because she doesn't trust anyone else.

I have voiced my displeasure, however no husband has ever gone through a marriage undefeated.

$95 of my own says his girl was getting colour in her hair ... and another $95 says that it was a shade of "Skeet"

Nothing like a man with a funny haircut eating steak & eggs...

As it happens I used to date an Aveda Master Stylist - she charges $85 for a cut in Minneapolis, which I guess is if anything maybe even more expensive than charging $95 in DC. No color for that price, just a wash and cut. I would sure as hell never pay that, but plenty of people do (the men's price is the same). She also charges $850 for a thermal straightening, and $1,800 for extensions!

A proper tip on a $95 cut would minimally be $15-20 IMO. If you can't afford the tip, you shouldn't be going to a $95 stylist.
