Studs are nice if you have a situation like me... two ways to get off the road I live on, both involve steep hills where getting speed before you get to the hills isn't easy. Studs are legal in both states I visit/live in (PA and NY) but only during certain periods of the year. Personally, you'll probably be fine with a decent set of snow tires.. hell, All Seasons will probably work for you too.

Those look pretty good Neo, thanks for your help. I have 17s, and it is a 2002.
I've heard good things about Hancook, maybe I should look into those instead of Blizzak.

Umm, how much snow are we talking aobut here? I lived a good 20 min away from my high school 2 years ago (in good weather/traffic). We had a good 6" of snow on the ground that year and the retarded school board didn't issue a notice that school was closed. So I drove at about 20 mph through 6" snow on hilly/curvy roads for about an hour round trip (turned back halfway when I couldn't get up a hill). And that was in a Volvo S60 with standard tires.

I've been looking at www.tirerack.com, it seems like a pretty good website.

Altons wanted to charge me $850 after installation for 4 Blizzak REV01's. I can get them for $640 from that site, after shipping, by Monday.

The reviews I have been reading make these tires sound pretty great... maybe this is my best option.

The tires I currently have on are 225/45/17. I've heard that changing to 205/50/17 could be better for winter, and tires would still fit on the wheels I currently have. Thoughts?
