How much do I charge my friend for 60miles drive?

Hi I'm driving my friend to her parents house because she left some stuff there, anyway it's 30 miles there and 30miles back so altogether ill be driving 60miles. How much do i charge her for gas? £ and not $ and my car uses diesel if that helps lol.

I usually don't charge my friends but since it's 60 miles then I have no choice but to be a meanie to her 🙂

EDIT - GAS money. How much gas money should I ask or expect? I don't want to over charge her etc. Btw I'm not her best friend I see her every day at work and whatnot. I give free rides to my friends when I got my first car but 60 miles is the furthest I drove someone...
What's wrong with you?

1) Consider investing in a math workbook.
2) Why would you charge a friend? If they're a friend, they should just give you a few bucks or a meal. Or just do it because you're doing your friend a favor. If they're really a friend, they'll help you out the next time you need a favor from them.

Someone close this thread ffs so many old nobheads stop replying to this cancerous thread omfg

Sorry -- Live by the post. Die by the post.
You dug your grave with starting this thread. Just because it went south on you, doesn't mean you get to run and hide from it.

Including wear and tear, about 50 cents a mile.

Agreed on the free part though. I'd drive friends around for free I don't mind.

Heh. This thread is classic ATOT.

I have done similar trip with my buddy. We left Toronto after work, drive down to NYC, then do the return on Sunday. Same weekend. He paid for gas, but I helped with the driving.

That is about 1000 miles...

And then the intense scissoring action?

I'd say it really depends how close of a friend too. Really close friend, can do it for free as a favour, someone you don't talk to that often that just randomly reached out to you? Then I'd charge at least for the gas. Also depends how PITA the actual trip is. If they want to do that drive when it's blowing snow out and a foot of snow on the road it's not a very fun drive vs if it's on a nice clear day.

That said I drove one of my friends to a mine once during a blizzard at night, it was really not a fun drive but he was stuck and it was a new job so I did it for free as I kinda felt bad. Well he insisted on paying me $40 anyway but I didn't ask. He said he would have taken a cab anyway if I had not been able to.

Half right. Really close friend you do it for free. Someone that you don't talk to often that just randomly reached out to you then you don't do it at all. Refer them to Uber.

I would have told him to take a cab 😛

Quick google
''The average price of a litre of fuel in the UK is now around £1.15 for petrol and £1.18 for diesel. But how much it costs to fill up can vary from street to street and town to town''
Full tank for me is around £45-50 depend what petrol station I go.

It's close. I'll be staying at her house that day. I want her to pay for my gas and not meal because we have meals together at work all the time and that is nothing at all.

If your car is about 40 MPG, then 60 miles = 60/40 Gallons.
4.54 Litres per gallon (Approx)
60/40 x 4.54 = 6.81 (Litres) x £1.15 = £7.83

Or another way, is that the range (between your fill ups) is about 350 miles (estimated, since we don't know what car it is).

So 60/350th of a full tank, which costs about £47.50

So approx 60/350 x £47.50 = £8.14 (approx)

Combined average = (7.83 + 8.14) / 2 = £7.99 approx

So call it a round £8, or £10 (because of insurance, tyres, servicing, repairs, depreciation, etc), or £0 as you are good friends.
