Hi I'm driving my friend to her parents house because she left some stuff there, anyway it's 30 miles there and 30miles back so altogether ill be driving 60miles. How much do i charge her for gas? £ and not $ and my car uses diesel if that helps lol.

I usually don't charge my friends but since it's 60 miles then I have no choice but to be a meanie to her :)

EDIT - GAS money. How much gas money should I expect? I don't want to over charge her if she gives me x amount etc. Btw I'm not her best friend I see her every day at work and whatnot. I give free rides to my friends when I got my first car but 60 miles is the furthest I drove someone...

Why does that matter? I don't care about lunch I food in the fridge. :)
It doesn't matter. Nothing matters. Your friend can pay for gas, and you can have lunch together that she pays for since your time has value above the gas price. You get nominal payment for your time, and you get to spend time with your friend. Or don't be a cheap ass, and just drive your friend gratis. You're the one that asked.

Not sure why you would charge a friend for doing them a favor. I've given friends rides of more than 60 miles round trip many times and never asked for a dime. They usually offer to pay for fuel or buy me a meal but really I've only done it because I enjoy their company and am interested in the journey (usually to look at motorcycles).

Maybe ask her to pitch in for fuel?

Cappuccino lives in the U.K., goes to university, IIRC, and fuel is expensive as hell, about $6/gallon.

U want us to do the math?

Ok, what's you mpg, and how much does gas cost.

It can be in metric also.

I would just charge for the total cost of gas as that will also make up for your inconvenience and that's how much it would cost your friend anyway if he/she had a car, unless you were already planing on going that way, then maybe half. 120miles is 193km, so that's about a 2 hour drive.

Depends how close you are too, if it's a very close friend then could just ask that they pay for a meal along the way or something.

Quick google
''The average price of a litre of fuel in the UK is now around £1.15 for petrol and £1.18 for diesel. But how much it costs to fill up can vary from street to street and town to town''
Full tank for me is around £45-50 depend what petrol station I go.

It's close. I'll be staying at her house that day. I want her to pay for my gas and not meal because we have meals together at work all the time and that is nothing at all.

This is not rocket surgery. The cost to your friend is:

Miles Driven * (Gas Cost/Car's MPG) + Fucks Given

The key variable here is Fucks Given, since everything else is mostly constant. Did you enjoy your time or was it a burden? Adjust accordingly.
