Just got out of college and I'm looking for my first "real" job, and I'm curious - how much did you make at your first job? what were you doing?

Nope. Take your pick. Give one and you can estimate the other anyway :p

50k is 80% of the full amount of pay. It increases 5% yearly. Then after 5 years you will be making aprox. 100k+/- some.

First one was $10/hour... I think that's about 20K, not much but it was something I enjoyed and was good experience.

you REALLY don't want to know. i quit my job after 4 months because the pay was crap.

ok, i'll tell you: $19,200.

not only that, this was a system administrator job in the empire state building. the MONTHLY RENT of my office was about twice the amount of my yearly salary. the CEO of the company was certainly money hungry. no wonder she's faced with turnover just about every week  (it's been two years since i've been at that job and they still haven't learned)

my second job was a HUGE improvement over that, and my third job (current one) also gave me a nice boost :)

That's about what I'm looking at right now. A bunch of helpdesk / low-level IT positions in that ballpark, and a 1-year entry-level programming position that, honestly, I'm not sure what they're going to pay.
