How much cream cheese do you like on your bagel?

None, not that big a fan of it, oddly, I used to like it a lot, but now it's like meh, I prefer other things like butter, or peanut butter. I sometimes even put honey. I may as well just take an insulin shot at the same time. lol

There's just sometbing wrong with the concept of boiled bread...and, no...I'm not a fan of soft pretzels either.
Its that it's dense and dry and there's no decent crust.
It's just like cheap, mass produced bread that's designed to last for ever rather than taste good.

That's because the bagels you have gotten are likely just that. There is a big difference between a good bagel and what most people can get...
I've had a few, but I've never had one that's as light and airy as a good bread, and never one with as good a crust.
As BoomerD says, you don't boil bread.

Old guy and dude in the UK (easily the worst food on the planet) don't like bagels. As expected.

But I didn't like bagels when I was a young guy...

Lots of people in the US probably have never had a decent bagel. The stale ones at the local supermarket aren't going to impress.

A NY bagel however is a thing of unfathomable beauty.

Omg yes. I live in So Cal and the first thing I do when I land in NYC is get a bagel.
