mines currently ~12.5k and slowly dropping....
mines' from a ~30% paycut took me over 5 months (and went from 1k cc debt from a recent vacation to 15k cc debt) to get my income to cost of living ratio back to a manageble level.
You were overspending by $2k/month...?

About $18K, most of it carryover from stupidity during my younger years. About three years ago it was easily twice that! Breaking up with my then g/f helped a LOT, by the way..

I'm in the same boat as you. I was very freakin' stupid with my credit cards for several years. I was thinking more of "what can I buy now" than "I can buy this when I have a good job."

Now that I have a good job, I can't buy the things I want (house, new car) because I'm stuck paying off old loans and CC's.

My Discover and Mastercard are always paid in full each month. I have about $4k combined on my Best Buy and Circuit City cards from a digital camera and HDTV purchase. I have the money in savings to pay them off, but they are 0% interest for 1 year and 18 months respectively, so I pay about $200 off on each every month to ensure they are paid in full before the deadlines.

Between my wife and I, we have just under $10k in CC debt. Neither of us were good with money when we got married, and now we've learned our lesson. It down, and after I pay off the car in 2 months, I'll have another $300 / month to pay them down.

I could pay more down, but I'm putting $400 / month into savings for a house.

no, I was overspending by around 800 a month (instead of saving I was paying off car and house notes, because I was told the company was doing well and not to expect a paycut.), and I paid some stuff off with 0% and 2.9% intrest credit cards since I wasn't able to pay it off at the rate I was going, I also bought some video editing equipment to start a side business. 9/11 disaster totally fvcked up my finances.

edit: I had a typo, should have said 15 months to get my income to cost of living ratio to a manageable level.

I have $0. Actually, I guess I have about $700 on a store credit card at 0% financing.

Wife has about $1500 as far as I know.

I do not understand why there is a choice $0 when that would be no debt therefore not relevant to rest of the poll.

Anyhow, my debt is somewhere along the national average income for a family of four.

How much credit card debt do you have?

None.
