Whoa I never knew that. You're saying that if I ever deposit money to my bank that is more than 3K, they'll make a note of it to the FBI? And oh yea, do they have any rights to ask me where did i get my money? I mean it's my business right? Do you have to answer them? I think that's bullshited when they ask you where you get the money. Is that true?
Well, they do report it, but that doesn't mean that the FBI will starts following you around and the IRS will audit you. But, enough of those transactions with no taxes paid to back it up, or they see that you have no means of getting that kind of money for a given periods, questions will be raised, and then the men in black suits will probably come and visit you. Some one mentioned that 10K for them to report it? No, it's $9999.00, but that's the legal amount of GIFT you can receive from some one per year without paying tax on it.

No, it is 10,000 dollars, but you can't structure transactions to purposely go under the mark either.

$990 when my debit card wouldn't go through for my university tuition. I walked accross the street to get the money cash from my credit union. Walked back to university and paid cash. I had it for about 2 minutes in my hands/pocket.

$47,800 in a insurance check... my best friend's dad is an adjustor and I was sitting in his garage at his desk and saw it... Picked it up and it was nice holding that much money...

I once got to play with about $75K that my company took as payment from a Mexican company back a few years ago when their currency was fluctuating wildly. We had no idea they would come to our office and pay us in cash. Bundles of cash like in a bad movie. It was very funny.

$273K....CASH. I cashed an insurance settlement check at the bank the insurance company used....just to feel like I may have pissed them off. Carried away in a duffel bag to my bank to deposit and set up some investments (IRA's, and paid off mortgage, also set up two college trusts for my stepson's). And yes, I was packing and had my license to carry concealed on me at the time.

Largest amount of cash? around 5 grand when I paid off my housing for college. Largest amount of spending money I carried was around 1500 bucks in vegas last fall. Lost it all :/

Just about every weekend I'll have at least 3000 cash in my hands. Some Nights (like 4th of july) I can have as much as 8000 in my hands at any given time. (I am a carny, which is an all cash business, of course.)

13k in cash, carried it for months in my money belt

139k in check when i bought my house
