Since I live on a main road, no kids came to my place at all. I have like 5 bags of candy sitting at home.

I think I went though about 50 or so dollars worth. In a consumer world where every kid eats like there's no tomorrow, Halloween keeps making more and more less sense.

No on trick or treats in Salt Lake
They go "Trunk or Treating" in church parking lots. Much safer when god is watching your kids.

That's ROFL amusing to me...

We lived in the SL valley during the 1980's when little kids were disappearing left and right...eventually, they caught (and IIRC) convicted a man who was something like a bookkeeper for the church...

History shows that religion is no safeguard against pedophiles...in fact, it often draws them like flies...

I'm amazed you spent as much as a hundred bucks.
At walmart or costco that would get you thousands of pieces of candy.

Are you throwing out whole handfuls?
Or did you just get ripped off at the store?

EDIT:
My mom stopped giving out candy last year and we didnt do it this year now that I am home.
Northern Virginia is infested with illegal aliens and she doesnt support or encourage them in any way. This includes the anchor babies who are now old enough to go out and get candy.

how are they any less american than anyone else??? am i not a real american cause i was born in a different country??

Almost no kids show up here anymore, still lots of candy, but kids only want $$$ now. After one of these expensive "New Urbanist housing development" (Text) parents drive their kids there. One kid who stopped by after wards said he got $30 because he was so early.

I'm a scrooge. My porch light stays off on Halloween. I'd probably give out candy if we didn't have 2 dogs. Every time someone comes near the house, they bark like crazy. I'd get tired of it in a hurry.
