How much bandwidth do you usually use per month on your home internet?

Especially with all these Steam Christmas sales, I am looking at over 100gb.

But besides digital game sales, I can get by with under 100gb.

Not sure if Frontier has a bandwidth cap though.

no clue

This month is will be high because I had to redownload all of lil rudeguy's Steam games to his new rig. Over 24 hours of solid downloading and they still aren't all done.

What do you do usually on the net and what's your service provider?

I stream a ton of stuff on netflix and twitch.tv

Cox is my service provider and for my tier there is a soft 400GB/month limit. I've only gone over a few times and they have never done anything.

I don't really keep track. I watch a lot of netflix, fiance watches a lot of netflix as well, often we watch 2 different thinfgs. We both also watch lots of hulu plus. I tend to buy too much crap on steam, and I tend to download my steam stuff onto 2 different PCs (gaming PC upstairs, home theater PC downstairs) as sometimes I like to play with the eyefinity setup , sometimes I want to sit in the recliner and play on the big screen.

I would say that on average, I am probably under 100GB, but, I suspect that I have some months where I am 200+ GB

Between 200-275 (300 is my cap).

Stream a lot of twitch (average 2 hours a night probably..its background noise). Stream soccer games (nbc sports) and download tv shows (1gb average per episode). Plus the occasional download for a game

I tried to cut down over the impending caps Comcast has been testing in other markets and got to around 300-350GB a month (and apparently in one month I hit like 975GB). Sadly, that is still way over the cap. =(

I pulled easily 750gb last month from p2p clients (legal work stuff) and Comcast didn't complain a bit. The month before was around 500gb due to a reformat. When they send you those emails just man up and remind yourself you pay 200$+ to use the line the way you want to. My bill is around like 220$.... 220 x 12 = $2640. If they don't want that yearly from a customer who never calls in, I'll take my business elsewhere :)

P.S. they care a lot more about upload speeds. Upload IIRC is needed for running gaming servers and stuff.

about 200GB this month, I probably use more normally but I've been so busy with an exam project I haven't had time for internets.

Did you incur any consequences for going over the cap?
