How many would even have anything near the recommended PS for a X1900XT?

Not even some of the best rated and most popular PSUs on market supply more then 20A on the 12V rail, despite how many watts they are rated. And the recommended 38A for the crossfire means even fewer. Wonder how conservative ATI is being on the recommendation and if they are just going overboard to cover their bases and blame the PSU if anyone has a problem with the cards.

I can't think of any high-end psu that has less than 20A on the 12v, the majority have over 30A nowadays.

Most decent ($39+) PSUs have 26A or 28A on the +12, you just have to look.

I've been running a 6800Ultra with a PSU well below recommended specs with no problems for over a year now. The point being all PSU's are not created equal and manufactures are covering their butt with system specs high enough to cover worse case scenario. However, I would not try and run one off my current PSU either.

I got the same PSU, and it is my first antec after hearing rave reviews about their PSU's...I am not impressed. for alot of reasons.
