Three times.

1) Reported a car accident that happened in front of me.
2) Called due to extremely irate customer at my good old roller skating rink gig back in high school.
(Unrelated to the irate customer, but at the same job I had 911 call the rink while a couple of kids were on the pay phone pranking 911. It was a Friday night, so I let our off-duty officer handle that one.)
3) First responder to a laboratory explosion in grad school (no it wasn't my reaction).

I have probably done it 5-6 times don't really remember now. I remember 3 times I did call quite clearly though:

1. I got into a 2v2 fight which ended up with me getting bashed in the head with a metal pipe, called 911.

2. Was driving and saw someone on the steet passed out with their door open in their car lying face down on the steering wheel not moving, so I called 911.

3. When we were kids my friend got hit with an onion in the face that was thrown out of a 12th story balcony which bruised him up pretty bad, so we called 911 on assualt charges.

0.

I've called the non-emergency number once though. I was on the interstate and I saw a car on the shoulder fully engulfed in flames. Don't ask me how I remembered the non-emergency number though. I think I had to call up there for a ticket I got or something like that.

I called one time because I was on the highway and a piece of metal fell off of an 18 wheeler truck, bounced off the ground and broke out my taillight. The truck refused to pull-over when I tried to flag him down. Not suprisingly, I didn't receive any assistance. But the police force around my parts is usually pretty good.

Once.

A woman on a motorcycle veered off the road at full speed (55mph) and hit a guardrail. And yes, she was dead.

What? how does a kid survive a 12th story fall?

reread that. The kid didn't fall 12 stories, the onion that hit him did.

I have called a few times:

1) Saw a bad accident and called but they already had someone else call in to report it + they were there close

2) Called the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (*55) when a fence was broken and a few cows had wondered close to the highway

3) Called the Florda Highway Patrol (*347) when I watched someone on the other side of the highway do a few spins and end up hitting a bridge (while it was raining)

4) Called to report a grass fire that had just started to the forestry service

5) Called the non-emergency number to report a stolen bike (it was locked up but they cut the lock)

6) Called the non-emergency number to report that I found the stolen bike a year later (it had been repainted)

7) Called the non-emergency number to report the same bike had been stolen again about two months later (this time they cut the cable). It was only a $50 bike too

Did it make him cry?

Once after I rear-ended another car.
Had it called for me in another accident where I was unconcious.
And watched my dad dial it once when a drunk hit a pole by his house.

Once. My father has to take medication for seizures, I have to keep a eye on him. On day I had my headphones on, and for some reason I just 'felt' something was amiss. I go into the kitchen to find him on ground in a pool of blood. He had a episode and hit the counter top corn with his head on the way down. Really scared me. I dont want to re-live that experience.

Once when I was a kid, 5 minutes before we left to the store. Later on neighbors told us a fire truck showed up.
Once when following a drunk driver. 911 Operator asked if we were still following the person, we said no and she said "good".
Once for a hit and run. Someone had backed into my car and then just left. There was a witness who got a license plate number and everything, and I filed a police report but nothing ever came of it (Damage wasn't bad enough to warrant contacting my insurance, was cheaper to fix myself)
And once when I saw an abandoned car up in flames...

Zero. Got to 'experience' over 10 911 calls though at my old job though. Especially fun when someone was down and no one told me about it so I let the paramedics hang at the door.

Once, I had a temperature of 95 and had been sick for a while. I was shivering and felt like I couldn't breathe well. Fire showed up, took a few readings, and said my mom should drive me to the hospital (or they would take me, but I declined).

I had warmed up to 97 by time they arrived and already felt better...

Another time I saw an accident and called to get the EMT's on the scene. Last was by accident.... kinda funny. I got a new cell phone my father bought me in Germany. I was playing with the thing and it had something that said "notruf" ... it didn't occur to me to look it up, I just figured I'd click the button to see what it did, I figured with no sim card in the thing yet it wouldn't do anything anyway. Oops. Notruf of course is German for "emergency call" so the thing dialed 911. I tried to explain to the operator that I called by mistake, but he thought I was being kidnapped or something and kept saying things like "if there is someone within earshot threatening you or if you are in danger, just say "no, everything is fine tonight" etc.

LOL! How did you get out of that call? "honeslty, i'm alright tonight" *CRAP!*

Actually once.

Had a friend that had a seizure in my car while on the road.

We didn't know that he was epileptic at the time and thought he was dying. He bit his tongue and as a result was spitting blood which we though was coming internally and really freaked us out. I was on the road as it happened though and was able to just drive to the hospital faster than they would have been able to find us.
