I've dropped my Rezound quite a bit unfortunately. The funny thing is, my screen is fine, but the body has one good nick. And that nick came from my dog lol

Back at the end of March I ordered Gnexus gsm unlocked off of Amazon. I was getting out of the car with the package and my arms were full. At that point I was hurrying to get into the house and check out this phone.

I pop the battery cover open and see a Verizon sim card. Bad sign. At that point I wasn't sure that there was a difference between the Verizon and the unlocked model. After looking into it I realized there was and the phone wouldn't work. So it was back to my SGS2. But where was it? It wasn't in the backpack or on the seat of the car. Sure enough somehow I dropped it while getting out of the car. I could see fine scratches all over the screen and the phone was on but the screen wouldn't light up.

So now, I had a verizon nexus, and a broken galaxy s2. Needing a smartphone to use I ended up buying a droid x off craigslist for $80 that night and used that for a few weeks. I ended up paying $230 to have the screen replaced from Irevampelectronics. I couldn't even find a replacement screen, and I didn't want to attempt the repair anyways since my photos were on the internal memory rather than the micro sd card and I could not mount the drive to retrieve the data with the screen scratched.

It all worked out, I fought with the seller of the galaxy nexus, trying to explain that he sent me the wrong model and finally filed a credit card chargeback on the phone. Paid alot to have the sgs2 repaired, and ended up giving the Droid x to my dad. Now I have my phone in a case (didn't use one before since I used a navigation mount at the time) and back up my stuff regularly.

I've dropped my SGS1 more times than I can count. The paint is flaking off the reflective bezel at the front because of all the times I've dropped it, and there's a crack in the back plastic next to the power button. I think that came from when I dropped it onto my kitchen tiles during a power cut.

I dropped my SGS2 in the toilet today. That is a new one.... 🙁

Ouch. Super sorry to hear that, Poofy. As I'm sure you already know: take the battery out, put it in some place super dry and wait at least 2 days and then put the battery back in and power it on and hope for the best.

And if it works... then congratulate yourself and then spray that puppy down with Lysol and maybe some hand sanitizer. 🙂

It works! Luckily I live in a very dry climate. Thanks for the advice!

This thread jinxed me!

I read this thread last week and though, "Hmm... I can't remember the last time I dropped my smartphone." Sure, I've dropped a feature phone many times, who cares. But I'm so careful with an expensive smart phone."

Then Saturday night, I dropped my Galaxy Nexus while trying to open my door in the dark. It hit concrete, I was really nervous I just did some serious damage. Luckily all I found was a small barely noticeable nick on the left side by the volume rocker. Whew, got real lucky.

But I totally, 100%, blame kyrax12 for making this thread and causing me to drop my phone.

About three times in the six months I've had it.

It has a dent on the top to the left of the headphone jack, but nothing major.

I've dropped my DINC atleast a dozen times on cement (no case). There are some scuffs here and there but the glass is perfect.

I have a case for my phone, I don't use it because it makes it seem fat and unwieldy. I wish we had cases like the iPhone 4 case, I'd use one of those.

I was taking my SGS out of my pocket and it flew out of my hands skywards and dropped on the the ground and rolled off the pavement onto the tarmac. Just has some scraches on the silver bezel. I have a cover too and I hate it. I work at an electronics store and I envy the iPhone 4 cases we sell.

Probably 50 times or so in the past year.

The scariest time was dropping it when I went to see House of Pain last year.
Probably wasn't best idea to pocket my phone when "Jump Around" came on.
Hung around for an hour after during their clean-up. Aside from the many footprints, was fully intact.

Otter Box FTW. :awe:

I just dropped my shiny new One S the other day.
Luckily it was from a low point and I used my foot to cushion it plus it landed on the backside where its protected by a case 🙂
The phone is still shiny new.
EDIT: just took the case out to check. Not 1 nick 🙂
