Once a year on average.
If it were a 500 dollar gun or watch I think you guys would be a lot more careful. Why do you not show such consideration for something not only cool and expensive, but also necessary?

I'm not handling my watch as frequently as I am my phone. My phone doesn't have the capability of killing people (at least, not that I'm aware of). People drop things, some people more than others. That's life. Why do people feel the need to judge others for how they choose to treat their own possesions?

All the time. Current phone is HTC Trophy. I did put an Incipio Feather case on it though finally. Plus my son chews on it and hurls it when he gets the chance. He threw the OG Droid down the stairway last week (I use it as an alarm clock) and its okay. That thing was a beast.

never, I think the fact I almost always buy my phones off contract makes me much more careful with them.

My galaxy S plenty of times. Have a few small chips in the screen and the body has some nice gouges. Phone still works perfectly. Been over a year now since I did the damage.

Because you carry your phone with you 99% of the time ??
And maybe you pull your phone in and out of your pockets on a regular basis ??

Lumia 800, 3 times at ceramic tiles from about a 1m. 1 time in a puddle of mud, had some problems getting the headphones in the jack after that one.

The black lumia has some sort of coating on it that has started to chip away from one of the corners it landed on.

My SGS2 gets dropped fairly regularly but it's in a trident aegis case so it just bounces. :)

I dropped my OG Droid a bunch of times, on tile, concrete, wood, carpet, and though the metal body got a few nicks and scratches, I never had any screen damage.

In class a few days ago, I watched a guy banging the edge of his GS2 on a table while he was arguing with someone else. Made a horrible noise but the phone suffered no damage. Later he threw it up in the air, probably 8ft, though it landed on carpet - also no damage.

My father-in-law was getting out of his car and his 3GS slid out of his lap onto concrete, fell about 18" and shattered the screen so bad you couldn't read it.

I have a habit of putting my phones between my legs on the seat of the car; when I get out it usually falls 6 or 8 inches (on to carpet)... but this one time my Gnex spontaneously launched across the adjacent parking spot, did a triple lutz and landed right on it's edge from about 4 feet high.

Screen's still fine, but the back has a slight ding.... meh.

I drop my iPhone very rarely. So rarely that when it does happen, I am more shocked by the fact that I dropped it than by any potential for damage to the phone - So far, no lasting damage to my phone.

Yup. I had dropped by Venue Pro lots of times with not a scratch, after I got something else and gave it to my girlfriend, she drops it once (less than a week in) and this was the result:

Dropped my Incredible2 4-5 times since I bought it last spring. Has some dents and scratches in the shitty aluminum foil body. The screen looks great though. Probably should have put a case on it.

My next phone will have a plastic body. They seem to be much more durable. And I'm pretty clumsy.

I drop my phone regulary
I throw it consistenly to save miliseconds

Yeaa, my phone runs dos wrapped in some kind of old norton commander, and is for very mature business men. I will upgrade to sg3 and probably throttle back to regulary dropping.

Dropped my iPhone 4 on the carpet multiple times and dropped it once outside on gravel. I was sitting at the top of some stairs and it fell out of my pocket, through the stairs and onto the gravel 10ft below. No case and it didn't shatter. I have damage to the plastic rim though.
