I.... don't carry my keyboard everywhere. Conveniently enough my phone has a full-size keyboard, and I check my email with it, and text about as often as I make calls: maybe a few a day at most, for either.

As a college student, phones are impossible to use at every moment you need to get a hold of someone. I might be too busy or engaged in something where I can type a text message but maintain focus, and not have to break out the phone, and at times able to conceal the phone or otherwise not create a distraction. Like class.
