Another fun fact: If you are going to get pulled over for a speeding ticket, and your dad is a cop, DO NOT RUN!

This actually happened:
A good friend of the family was a CHP officer (died of lukemia), him and his partner were pulling over his son for speeding, his son took off rather than pulling over. They ended up catching upto him at home. His partner took the firearms out of the car and locked him in the back seat of the car so that he wouldn't kill his son.

I was pulled over once, and let off with just a fine. No actual 'speeding ticket', he knocked it down to some silly infraction. That's it for me.

7 years and 0 tickets. I've only been pulled over once and that was just the cop letting me know I had a brake light out.

there are WAY too many people not driving fast enough!! Drinving 8 years and have had 4 tickets. Not once was I driving with excessive speed in crowded traffic. I always got caught when I was the only vehicle around.

I've had 4.

According to Maryland's MVA (Motor vehicle administration). I own the land speed record. I even broke the sound barrier. I got a ticket for going 74 in a 55 and I didn't want to go to court so I just paid it. A while later I got a letter from the MVA saying there was a mistake on the ticket and even though the mistake was theirs, I owed them an additional $455. The letter said I could either pay the addional amount or go to court. I went to court.

So, the Judge calls me up and reads the charge. He said "You are charged with going 774 miles per hour in a 55 ... That's not right!" You see, someone at the MVA added an extra 7 to the speed and actually thought it was possible to go that fast and so they sent me a note saying I owed the additional money. Anyway, the judge reduce the fine to just court costs (I got a refund) and reduced it to just one point.

I've gotten one ticket (83 in a 65), November 2003. The road that stretches the majority of the way from my college town to my hometown, is one lane in each direction in a lot of places - it had opened up to two lanes, I tried to pass someone who I'd been stuck behind for miles doing 50mph, there was a cop waiting under the overpass, and I was caught.

I'm a lot more careful these days, I don't speed quite so much as I used to. I don't really have the money to be lining the pockets of the local police department, for one thing. 😛

None
I never have gotten any tickets, except for parking and the car was not even under my name so they are not really mine ha ha.

When I first started driving years ago, I got like 5 in the first year. Fortunately, they were almost all out of state, and the states involved apparently did not exchange information at the time. Since then, I've received one ticket for a left turn when lefts were restricted from 8AM-8PM. I'd like to think that it's because I'm older and wiser. OK, maybe just older. 😛

2, one in Texas and one in Massachusetts, both for 18 over, and both beacuse I was doing a respectable 10 over and there was a sudden speed limit change that I didn't see or disregarded because I knew it was only for a short stretch of road.

I had 1 that got dismissed the first 4 years I had my license. I then started working 45 minutes away from home and got 6 in 1 year.

7 in 7 years. Sometimes 3 a year, some years none.

But if it was in any way enforced consistently, I'd get one a day

Depends what you mean by received.

I've received probably 5 speeding tickets that I can remember. I was only convicted of a speeding offence on one of them.

1 speeding ticket, 1 for turning a left at a right only. Voted 1, as its the only one I've had for speeding.
