maybe some people like to broaden their horizon and listen to new things?

I think the last time I checked it was about 25,000. Almost all full albums. I used to work in the music industry. Used to being the key word. Most of my music is at least 5 years old. Only maybe 2000 songs added in the last 5 years. Half from Itunes, half purchased CDs.

Usually I just don't buy the album if I don't like it/won't listen to it. Everything on my player is something I like, which is why it's on there. Why wouldI put stuff on there that I don't like?

People never cease to suprise. I know a lot of people that have a ton of music they dont even like. More than likely they like a song by an artist then download their entire album history regardless of enjoying the music or not. To tell the truth I think you just look to pick a fight with me whenever possible and you know thats the truth!

It's true.

I just dont understand why it becomes a competiton or bragging rights. Ok you have 25,000 mp3's 24000 of them you wont ever even listen to, yay for you, I just dont get it.

I have a bunch of songs I don't listen to on the regular but then it's nice every once in a while when it randomly pops up and i'm grooving. I also DJ on the regular so having a nice wide variety of music that I may not listen to but others would is always a good thing.

..And the guy with the History of Music collection is the man.

Thats the other thing, people into trance/techno have the most ridiculous lists of all. They will have like 40 remixes of the same song

Wind helix double atanomy remix (remastered) (tiesto version double rack split 6)
Wind single helix trance beat w/ background alicia keys anamatronic dinasaur remix

and it just goes on and on!

I sorta get what you're saying. It seems like it would be hard for someone that has 30k+ songs to actually listen to all that music, unless they used it for DJing (my friend has that amount of music but she DJs weddings and stuff) or something like that.

it's not a competition or bragging rights for everyone just because you deem it so. i for one could care less, but now i'm going to compete to download as many obscure songs as i can just to annoy you.

Yea, I mean that is a bit absurd, but the thing is with DJs - if you have a few remixes to a song it can be nice to transition/cut up between them. But honestly, I have a good amount of house/techno/nyc club type music and I can say that at most I only have 2-4 versions of one song.

Nope, sometimes I may not be in the mood for something. But if I don't like it I delete it.
