Bwhahahah - one of the great pleasures of living where they're harvested - I live in Panama City 😀

My friend's family owns Acme Oyster House in New Orleans, and sometimes we'll go there just to see how many oysters we can slurp down (on the house, of course😉). The record holder in their contest at 42.5 DOZEN oysters! :Q

The most I could ever do was about 5 dozen, my friend can do about 7 dozen. I think the problem is I need some crackers every now and then, and they start to fill me up. Plus I slather those suckers in cocktail sauce which could also be filling me up.

I miss New Orleans, oysters up here in New York suck. They're too bitter (not to mention ridiculously expensive).

Ummm, just figure I will eat a lot. 😀

Rob

Yeah, same with the Vancouver ones (prolly the same oysters). There's no way anyone could eat over 100 of them.

Last time I was in Biloxi I set a personal best of 50. One of the Casinos had an all you could eat buffet so I had a few other things as well. Couldnt believe it myself but they were sooo good I just kept going back for more. Medium + size I would guess.

Now I want some!!

Hrmm...I think the most I've ever had at a time was like 8 or so. These things arent wings, I'd never consider stuffing myself with them. That's probably cuz the only place I eat em is on cape cod, and theyre at least 2bucks each, maybe 3 by now.

oh my god, SO good. Lobster pot in provincetown has the best oysters, they are always fresh from welfleet (like 15 miles away). One day me and my daddy were chatting with the shellfish/chowda guy and he said that rarely will they be more than 6 hours old. Wowzas, that's tasty :-D

i don't eat them raw

i'll eat them fried, but there are other seafood types that i like better (shrimp, calemari)

That's what you get for buying boiled crawfish in a restaurant. 😛

You oughta come out west, werk. The Willapa Bay oysters are the bomb! Those are the ones that Entity and silverpig were probably talking about. Big and juicy, it's not uncommon for them to be bigger than the shot glass if you get a shooter. I like mine with some nice spicy horseradish cocktail sauce.

mmmmm.... 🙂
