How many people here play or planning to play a MMORPG?

I was once all into AC1 and AC2 but then they started going nowhere with them. Right now i'm still waiting for WOW and that super hero one and a few others.

I used to play The Realm (way back before EQ, AC, UO, etc. ever started) but quit because it gets too addicting and competitive. I promised myself never to play them again 🙂

I had a lengthy and difficult battle with Ultima Online. It was the worst addiction I've ever faced and as such I have not touched, nor will I ever again touch, an MMORPG since 1999.

Really it's a shame so many companies are cranking these out. I still love video games and play multiplayer as well as single player but MMORPGs are of a unique genre that I simply will never be able to play. I auto filter anything I hear about them in gaming mags. I don't follow them and disallow any interest in them whatsoever 🙁

I've tried several, and have yet to find one that I enjoy (let alone enough to pay a monthy subscription for.) I thought Star Wars Galaxies would be the one, but it bores me as much as any other MMORPG.

I played EQ for about a year... sold my account for $2000... was well worth it considering I was disabled at the time and couldnt do much. Now I play Dark Age of Camelot and have been for about 2 years. I also play Horizions which is in beta right now. I find it funny some people complain about the montly fee... but it is justified.. they have to pay for alot of servers, alot of bandwith, and to pay for the employees... they are always adding content.

I liked EQ for a while. I don't think I could ever play a game like that again though. I much prefer being able to jump in and play something for an hour instead of having to commit myself to an extended session of gaming.

Yeah I never found the monthly fee a concern. I got my $10 worth in the first day. Ultima Online was the best video game I've ever played. I remember fondly some of the gaming moments playing with my brother on his computer, but alas if life is to go on games such as that have to be put away.

I played Asheron's Call for 2 years (finally quit Feb 2002). Waiting for WOW as well. I don't know if I have enough time to play MMORPGs anymore, but i'll probably try it out anyways.

Played UO for about a month when it came out, then decided I just couldn't get into it. Tried UO for about a month, and decided the only way I was going to get to a point where it was actually enjoyable was to spend hours a day building my character, wasn't worth it to me, so I stopped playing. It would take a really awesome game to get me to play again.

I played UO at the beginning for a few months. The lag annoyed the crap out of me and I quit
I played EQ for a bout a month. Boring as all getup.

I'm going to try out City Of Heroes when it comes out. That one appeals to me the most.

EQ - 1 year
RO - 6 months
Priston Tale - 2 months
PS - 1 month
DAOC - 1 month
AC2 - 1 month

Waiting for WoW & Lineage2 and maybe Priest.

Since I don't have much time to play--my characters were always low to mid levels.

I'm feeling that MMORPG addiction coming on strong again! Someone better hurry and come out with a really good one to satisfy it!!! 😀

Espically since Winter is on its way...........something about a MMORPG and a cup of coffee on a cold winter day just makes me wanna...
