Weezegirl, yes, I'm paranoid. I'm especially scared of forums. I would be more willing to accept someone I met through a private website instead of through the forums. If things should go wrong, I know that no one would know or care to know. How sure am I that I won't have to run for my life because the person who seeks me is some obssessed person or a stalker? I guess I'm just paranoid. The only person I ever thought about meeting was some guy who lived about 20 minutes away. His family has a website, so I could learn about them. Something like that made me less uncomfortable.

Luvly, meeting people from the web can be a lot of fun provided you take your time getting to know them. Also be sensible, meet in a public place, let your family know whjo you're going to meet and where. It also helps when you meet people thru a shared interest like a tech, music, exercise hobby board and not some AOL romance chat room.

Lessee, Kelvrick, JeremyJoe, PrincessGuard, virtuamike, KEV1N, and a few others from around here I think... I talk to Zenmvervolt, PAB, and linuxboy on the phone fairly regularly, and have talked to zakath15 on occasion.

I'll be in Seattle in a few weeks, anyone want to meet?

Exactly.

I would like to think ATOT is one of the better forums where people can establish a reputation before meeting and one of the better forums where people do care in a sense. I remember after 9/11 that some other members
were concerned about other members that worked around that area not posting anymore. As it turns out there were some members that passed away and there was an out pouring of sorrow. I would think people would
care if something happened to someone with a known forums reputation. God forbid anything bad happening at all.

Hmm... 6 or 7.

I met my girlfriends mom through the internet, and I wouldn't have met my girlfriend if I wouldn't have met her mom. :)

Accidentally stumbled across my wife on the Net, that still amazes me.

Met a few dozen people back during the BBS days and IRC, none recently.

ive met a lot.. mostly at concerts and such

my friend just got me into a $40 concert for free (backstage pass at the "Throttle" event in lake elsinore) and he also got me VIP at a club in fullerton :)

at throttle we chatted and hung out with a few bands... home grown, the starting line, souls of mischief... good stuff even though i dont really enjoy any of bands that played there except hg, pharcyde and souls of mischief...
