I did about 18 months ago and hopefully won't need to for at least a year.

Might get my parents a new PC for xmas, though.

I did about 20 months ago. Not planning on until June 2011, except for maybe storage.

It's kind of amazing how long you can hold onto a pc these days. Years are when we had 100mhz Pentiums you could get massive gains every 18 months These days i'm on a amd x2 cpu for gaming and it does everything I throw at it. I've never gone so long without an upgrade.

Not this year! made a pointless upgrade back in 2007 when i went from a C2D E6600 w/ Asus P5WDH Deluxe MB to an E8400 w/ Abit IP35Pro. As soon as i put it together i realized i just wasted my cash for a useless upgrade and identified my computer spending problems. I still can't justify another upgrade as i can run SC2 fine on high settings w/ my current rig. maybe when the sandy bridge refresh comes out i'll consider, but i doubt it

Probably hold on to my i7 920 machine for 4-5 years. P4 was good for 4 years.

my 8800gtx died over the summer, so I had to replace it. But that's the only part that's been replaced in over 3 years, probably won't change anything til next summer as long as my hard drive holds.

I did a full upgrade in July of 2008. I just replaced the Radeon 4870 with a 6850 for $180 (as much for lower noise as anything) but the old intel E8400 and 4 GB RAM are still fine for games like Fallout New Vegas.

Maybe next year when the next generation of video cards (after the current 40nm) are out.

I'm still living with my "ancient" P4 rig with AGP video...I MIGHT buy a "pre-built computer from Amazon if we decide to cash our Starpoints in for Amazon gift cards.

I upgraded the main machine in 2008. t`s going to be like this for a few more years because it does everything I need perfectly.

I haven't upgraded in my desktop or laptop in 3 years. I'm happy 99.5% of the time.

That was a silly upgrade. What was your thinking with the new mb?

My rig's just about as-built from 2006, and it's still working fine for my purposes. I need some more storage, and I'd like to get a ups, but I don't have the cash.

I did just upgrade (though it was more of a "rotation of hardware" throughout the house. I bought used CPU/MB/RAM, kept my old GPU. Still does everything I need it to.

I dont forsee changing anything for a long long time.

The last time was 2 years ago. Only new thing I'll probably get is an SSD when they become affordable.

I need to buy a new machine (or parts for a new one anyway). I'm running on an AthlonXP 2700+, which is inadequate for most everything.

The 975X chipset had flaky support for the E8400 so i wanted to sell it.

funny thing is, I sold the old mb for more than i paid for it, because it was the "in" hackintosh motherboard at the time. maybe i'll snag a GTX 460 on black friday if there is a killer deal and i'll offload my 8800GT on ebay or FS/T.

I've had my computer unchanged for a year and a half, and I'll probably be waiting another 3-4 years before I get any decent upgrades.

Yeah I upgraded mine a couple years ago, replacing every component over a few months. Realized I could have probably just swapped out the video card and power supply but oh well, I'll just hold onto my current setup for a while longer. I don't think a Phenom II X3 + Radeon 4870 is going to need replacing anytime soon.

Last upgrade was from an E8400 to a Q9550 about 18 months ago, I'm riding the 775 train until it blows up.

had a e6600, swapped for a new board, and q9550 ... added a solid2 ssd 120gb, and upgrade video cards ... 7950GTX->880GTS->260->460

I am waiting on 6-8 core sandybridge to overhaul again...maybe sli/xfire it as well.
