I'm a long time lurker on these forums, and I came to the stunning realization that I don't visit www.anandtech.com anymore!

How many of you are forums-only?

Also, can one of the mods give us traffic stats between website hits and forum hits?

Pretty much. The days of me building/upgrading systems are over I think.

I don't do anything that requires any sort of real power any more. Give me a browser and I'm set.

Less and less. Anand used to do motherboard reviews like no other. They used to review RAM and roundup ram and mobos. Same with CPUs. We get nothing anymore. They're more interested in news like being Engadget or Gizmodo or something.

Now smartphones are all the rage. That's what gets covered. And it's not really all smartphones... just US smartphones provided by the carriers.

I don't even know when they rolled in the new site layout. I like the old one. The new one seems oddly superficial and glitzy.

Does anandtech make any $$ from supporting these forums or are we all a bunch of freeloaders? I see ads on the side and possibly the moderators work free, but I wonder how much maintenance costs are ...

Once or twice in the last five years. Don't care about hardware anymore. No idea what the fastest cpu is on the market and don't give a tiny damn, either
