never EVER let your personal life interfere with your acedemics especially if its boy/girl related. a broken heart is not a good excuse for bad grades.

Now somebody tells me... i broke up with an ex a few years ago during finals, and was so depressed i couldn't study for my last final or finish the eassy. I did the whole term too, and i could have gotten an extention or at least went in and get a C, but i just said screw it and took off for a couple of weeks.

And damn, did that drop my GPA.

I had a problem last year where 2 courses i dropped, weren't dropped at all (computer glitch)! So i didn't realized i was enrolled in those courses until i got my transcript... but that was straightened out very easily, since both profs vouched that i wasn't there since day 1.

I never have, but I've known a lot of people that have.

I have decided I didn't want to go to some of my classes though. The worst I did was a C because of that choice though. Someone must have been watching out for me.

I managed to get a 1.8 in one of my grad school classes once (Fuzzy logic, if my memory serves me correctly). I somehow forgot to attend class after the 2nd week. 1.8 sounds bad enough, but then you also have to take into account the average grade in grad-school classes is 3.5... so... :)

Not sure if I got put on probation (didn't give a s@#t at that point). They probably assume you aren't gonna be a big slacker if your in grad-school... guess I was the exception. :)

Oh, I think I managed a 2.4 or 2.5 in a programming class that same quarter. I waited 'till 2 days before, to start the midterm AND final project (don't ask). Man, thinking back now, I was one freaking lazy bastard...

OhOhOh MeMeMe. :) Just got Provisionally Reinstated into my college after being dismissed. Just a word to the wise, if you don't plan on attending the class, save some time and drop it....if you can that is. :)

Hmm.. AP, nope - not me. But there were a bunch of people in my dorm suffering from the huge culture shock. It always seemed that there was something more exciting to do that study... like clean your room, or go visit some friends down the hall. Living the dorms was such a huge distraction - but it's a great experience. At some colleges, they only allow you to be on AP for 2 quarters, or they kick you out. :(

I kinda got on it...my honors group(don't snicker, it was easy to get in with my hs gpa) requires a 3.5 gpa minimum on the honors track of whatever major you're pickin as well as takin special honors seminars that are hard as all heck...I worked my @ss off and pulled a 3.3. Did it again and got a 3.4, off the honors group. I think the lesson is to know your limits and what's exactly expected of you. I don't know anyone who's gotten a 3.5 on the CS honors courses AND the core in the first 2 years at my school, but I'm sure it's happened. If I was a bs major like basket weaving or some weird thing like that, I coulda done it easy. I bit off more than I could chew. As for gf/bf...it's all a matter or priority. If you're heartbroken over a breakup, push it away, and focus. It's hard, but if you tell yourself that you have no excuses, you usually pull thru. Then again, I'm a self-proclaimed super nerd....what do I know?

<dramatization of my nerdiness>
Incredibly sexy woman(half blind too): Hey baby, why don't you come over here and show me how to code my software.
Me: ok...hold on a second, my Hard Drive is defraggin and I want to make sure it's in peak form.
ISW: Oooh, talkin all that technical stuff make me all hot and steamy.
Me: You know, If you're hot, I could put a spare delta black label on you if you want.
ISW: I wish you could put something on me.
Me: ok, hold on, I'll get the arctic silver syringe when I finish this applet.
ISW: Why don't you use the syringe you already have.
Me: Goddammitt woman! can't you see I'm coding here! Go lap yourself with the sandpaper in the corner, I'll be there as soon as I can.

:)
